"This hotel is a restaurant with a hotel behind it - very strange. We had lots of issues as Expedia customers. We paid for 2nd category deluxe room and arriving late were shown to a room at the end of a corridor off the restaurant 😳! We had requested a quiet room not near lifts and banging doors as I’m a light sleeper and whilst I know they say this can’t be guaranteed I have no issues with this on any other trip other than with IHG hotels - I have fed back to Expedia they need to review their agreements as this is the 3rd time in a year I have been placed in a substandard rooms (the one in Edinburgh looked into a car park!) and yet when I book direct I don’t have an issue. This hotel was a classic - opened the curtain to find a wall no view of natural light totally contradicting the picture on the website. I went to reception who said that was all that was left and even when I questions I had paid for a slightly better room she said ‘yes that’s it’! When I said that wasn’t the room on the website she said ‘yes Expedia have used the wrong picture’ and said she could move us the next night but that room would be right next to the restaurant and noisy - thankfully we were only there 2 nights so I resigned to a noisy couple of nights! Worse still they said I had only requested 1 free breakfast when there were 2 of us- who would do that - then wouldn’t change it so we had to pay!!! Poor service and didn’t care don’t stay if booking through Expedia look elsewhere"

"The elevator in this hotel doesn’t work. You have to wait 30 minutes to get into working elevator. At one point in my stay to avoid waiting I had to go up by stairs to the 22 nd floor. The key doesn’t work. The cleaning is terrible and no towels by the pool."

"This is an honest review of my experience here: The rooms were spotless cleaned, and looked like they are fully renovated. The staff goes above and beyond, best service ever. Everyone who works there I would give them a 10. At the pool they have big bottles of sunscreen for everyone to use and I loved that. We also loved the game room for the teens and kids, I just wish it was opened until later but they close at 6pm. On the other hand, the hotel is very old, so the layout of the property is weird. Specially the spa and gym area. The beach area is not clean, there was a lot of seaweed and I couldn't believe you have to pay to get an umbrella. This is the first time I have to pay for an umbrella at a hotel in South Beach. The other thing I hated was the extra charge for every single thing. For example, yoga class you have to pay $30 per person, but not for the meditation class. Microwave in the room, $25, kids club $125 per day. Overall, the hotel is good if you're not looking for something luxurious, very family friendly, it's clean, has great staff but it's too old and the extra charges make no sense. "

"The room was overall clean there really wasn’t enough soap or shampoo and conditioner. The mattresses were terrible. The they don’t change anything in the room unless you’re safe for three days which is pretty standard but it the room is tiny. The people in the hotel were very nice South Beach. It’s very rundown. It’s not about the hotel. "
