Essex House By Clevelander

Essex House By Clevelander

8/10 Good
"I stayed just one night before our cruise with 2 others and we had the suite #14. Upon arrival, no one was behind the reception desk and there were 2 people ahead of me waiting. When we entered the room (had to come l climb one flight of stairs with our many luggages) the room smelled extremely musty so we opened the window to air it out for a while.... later we just kinda got immune to it. The bathroom is quite nice and big with a huge hot tub. The location of the room is more quite than maybe most hotel rooms in South Beach. The next morning there was Dave at the front desk and he was extremely friendly and courteous. We asked about the coffee and croissant breakfast not realizing it was past 10am already at that time. Dave went above and beyond when he walked us over and helped us to get some very delicious coffee and croissant. He made the difference in our morning and the rating of our stay at this hotel. Someone needs to give him a raise quick!!"

"The rooms were very clean and spacious. If we ever needed anything we messaged in the app and things were delivered very fast. The use of the beach chairs was excellent and the fact that they had umbrellas for and additional charge was nice. Things that we did not appreciate: how much echo there was in the room and in the halls. The lack of sound proofing/noise cancelling on the doors."
