"I love the Tanbo no Yu! I can tell that its being fixed up more everytime I come here! This time, really enjoyed the pure stream bath it was very warm and a comfortable place to chat with my husband. The food was delicious and healthy with many flavors and unlimited hokuriku rice! I definitely be back again!"

"This is a truly unique hotel, transformed from an old house and surrounded by various shops that add to the street’s historic charm. We stayed on the ground floor and had a wonderful experience—a spacious bedroom facing a small, traditional courtyard, with convenient hotel facilities nearby. One staff member spoke excellent English, and even the Japanese-speaking staff were very helpful, assisting us by calling our next hotel in Kaga Onsen to arrange a pick-up bus. "We were blown away by how unique the whole experience was and how hospitable the hotel staff was. We were given slippers and traditional robes when we arrived and our luggage was carried to the room for us. Our room was very quaint with a whole tea setup prepared at the table. The dinner was an incredible, elaborate experience that we weren’t expecting. The gardens were beautiful and the hot springs were so relaxing. "

"The facilty is old & the room smelled of cigarettes, but everything else was wonderful. If looking for authentic Japanese experience (for the working and middle class Japanese) this is a very good experience. Dinner and breakfast buffet was really good. However there's little to do around the lake, unlike Yamashiro ir Yamanaka onsen area. "
