I had a great stay at Matsue New Urban Hotel. The location was convenient and I really liked their systems in place for the amenities in the lobby. In addition, the hotel room looked brilliant and the staff were very kind.

Great lakefront hotel with excellent service

Great lakefront hotel with excellent service. Room was spacious with a lake view. They will hold your luggage even after checkout, which was handy for me to be able to visit sites closeby, such as Matsue Castle which is only a ten minute walk north.

I speak Japanese and so did not rely on internet advice and discovered many shops and food and local information. I was on business but would like to return for a holiday as it has lots to offer without the crowds. Only bad point is matsue has a taxi shortage in the morning and evenings due to cummuter rush.

自動チェックインなのですが、案内をしてくださった若い男性の話していることが理解出来なかった。お部屋の掃除をして欲しい旨を伝えたら、何時に出掛けて何時に帰ってくるのか聞かれた。3泊４日の旅でしたので、「いつの事ですか？」と聞き返したらまた「何時に出掛けて何時に帰ってきますか」と繰り返し聞かれた。毎日何時に帰ってくるかなど、旅先だからわかるはすないのにと思うが、それがここのホテルでは重要な事なのだろうか。チェックインの説明の若者に反して、お掃除の方は毎日綺麗にお部屋を整えて下さって、感心した。私が使ったものは、全て綺麗に定位置に戻してくださっていた。 ホテルは松江駅からは歩いて20分位。宍道湖温泉駅からは10分位。バスは本数がないので、待っているのが嫌な方は、タクシーか歩きをおすすめします。ホテルのまわりには食事が出来る所はあまりない。ホテルの近くで食事をしたいのならば、予約しておいた方が良いと思う。行きたいお店はどこも、予約で入れませんでした。
