"HVAC did not work. Room was very warm and it was only about 60 degrees for a high. Cleaning service made the bed and replaced towels, but left dirty dishes in the room - not just one day, but multiple days. The lower floors of the hotel smelled like a backed up sewer line… Aside from all that and hearing drunks in the middle of the night on the street below, all was wonderful…. LOL I had the window open because neither AC nor fan worked… Not sure if I got the “Expedia room” or if all the rooms were this terrible - but I’d pass on this place!"

"I didn’t really care for the food at the hotel. The breakfast didn’t have many options and their dinner was kind of bland. "

"The hotel is in an excellent location right under the Rialto Bridge and has a retro charm, with rooms decorated in old venetian style. The breakfast had a good selection of items and the staff was helpful. However, the room was really hot as the air conditioning is not available until it is summer (not operational in spring). They provided a fan which helped but it is not what I would expect from a 4star. "

"Fab stay while in Venice. Breakfast was beautiful.. bar man was extremely friendly. Clean and tidy. Very handy to everything. Would definitely here again on our next vist."

"I booked in the annex building and was assigned to Room 509. I am 5’ll” in height and kept hitting my head on the room’s ceiling beams. Not sure if all the rooms are all the same. Other than that, the location is perfect and centrally located in Venice, the hotel staff are great, and the hotel is very clean. "

"Note: this hotel is not on the main isle of Venice. It's on Ludo Island, which is close to Venice, but not on the main island. We did not know this, and it took an hour and a half by waterbus to get from the train station to Lido while lugging all our bags, etc. And honestly, it takes a while to get to it from where all the big things are on Venice, so you spend more time travelling because your hotel is further out. Luckily, the hotel is just across from the waterbus station, and the bed was pretty comfy, but if we'd known it was going to be so far removed from everything we'd be doing, we wouldn't have booked on Lido. You probably pay more to be on Venice itself, but it's likely worth it. The waterbus "system" is a disaster to navigate, so being further out really does hinder you. the hotel was okay. The breakfast was okay, but not as good as other hotels we stayed at in Italy. But we likely would not stay here again, given everything we know now. "

"*In the morning (only stayed 1 night) found bed bug. Took video and showed employee. *Booked a family of 4, only 3 bath towels provided. So I went to the lobby, which was empty and was about to ask for another towel, when two groups of new customers arrived and tried to cut line, with the employees approval (after all, I already booked). Tired of this line cutting, I insisted that I be helped. *slight unpleasant smell permeated the hotel * Location was near St. Mark's which was a plus."

"Casa Sulla Laguna is a wonderful property, but before booking, there’s one thing every guest should understand: Murano is a separate island. It requires its own ferry ride from Venice — about 15 minutes. The hotel sits directly on the water, offering a level of privacy and tranquility that’s simply impossible to find on the main island of Venice. The location also happens to be right next to one of Murano’s most famous glass factories — I didn’t fully realize how close until I joined a glass-blowing tour that departed from Venice and ferried us out to that very factory. I ended up slipping away from the group mid-tour to pop back to my room for a snack and a bathroom break. That’s how close it is. Host Pino was genuinely hospitable and took the time to walk me through all the logistics of staying on Murano — ferry schedules, getting around, the works. That kind of welcome was really helpful. Murano itself is a pleasure. Calmer, quieter, and far easier to navigate than Venice, it has plenty of shops and good restaurants. Getting to Venice proper via the ACTV local ferry system was never a hassle — I never waited more than 5–10 minutes, regardless of the day or time. The one caveat: after about 10:00 pm they don’t run as often. Overall, a great stay. "
