"The staff was superb. There was a miscommunication in bookings and my friend and I received a room with only one double bed and the staff was able to change it to two singles, despite saying the hotel was fully booked. The room was clean and the staff cleaned it each time we requested it. The only complaints I had was that the rubber liner on the shower door was loose and kept falling causing water to leak out of the shower and the latching/locking mechanism on the patio door is loose and made it difficult to properly close the door. Other than that, I had a fantastic time."

The Lido is quiet and civilised, the boat ride to San Marco Square in only ten minutes. The staff at this hotel are extraordinary! The reception staff was helpful and spoke perfect English and knew the answers to all our questions."

"This is a great option to avoid the hellish crowds in Venice proper. The staff were absolutely wonderful and the room was HUGE. It was old-not updated at all. But it was not run down. The shower is TINY so keep in mind if you are a larger human. The island is charming and vibrant. The coffee shack a few blocks down was amazing and a sneaky nighttime surprise of energy. The food at the restaurant is fine. They could use better cocktail choices in the upstairs bar."

The only problem is the a/c is very weak and it stays pretty warm in the room all night, but that seems to be most places we stayed in Italy. If you need a cool room to sleep look for the name brand hotels most of them seem to have better a/c"
