"Hi highly recommend this hidden gem of a hotel near Old Town Quito. Mario and Blanco were fantastic hosts from helping us during our very late arrivals, to a wonderful breakfast each morning, helping us with suggestions on where to go in Old Town, making our dinner reservation & transport to the airport. "The hotel is just one block from the main square, which makes it easy to visit and enjoy Quito's historical monuments at a leisurely pace. The hotel staff is very attentive and helped us coordinate transfers to and from the airport, as well as helping us with tours of both Quito's historic center and an excursion to one of the volcanoes. "Hotel Casa Montero is a solid choice if you want to stay in the historic center of Quito. The entry courtyard is tranquil and inviting, and the beds are quite comfortable. A particular bonus was the size and functionality of the bath/shower -- really impressive! The staff was fantastic -- very kind and helpful. Overall, I had a great time here!"

"This was one of the best hotels we have stayed. It was so clean, staff was extremely helpful and friendly all along the way. Fresh bread daily and stocked fridge. So personal and very welcoming. Recommendations for restaurants and shopping were spot on. I would highly recommend to anyone especially with a family. "
"Hotel is an great location for the historic centre of Quito and was really clean and comfortable.
My only issue was the rooms all overlooked the reception in a courtyard style and the door is always locked. So guests need to ring a buzzer to access the property, then when the door is opened a bell goes off. While this is not a problem in the day, when people come and go at night or early in the morning it does wake you up.
A small issue in a great little hotel."
"This hotel is an absolute gem, beautifully showcasing colonial architecture with meticulously renovated interiors. The spacious and spotless bedrooms are adorned with charming local decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Nestled in a safe and peaceful part of Quito’s Castro area, it offers easy access to major sightseeing spots just a short walk away. The beautiful Spanish-style garden adds to the hotel’s charm, providing a serene and picturesque space to relax. One of the highlights of my stay was the breathtaking view of El Panecillo (the Angel on the hilltop) from my balcony and window—an unforgettable sight both day and night."
