Manoc-Manoc hotel rooms a the OYO Rooms

"Staff were very welcoming and always greet you with a smile and a good morning/afternoon/evening. Any issues were quickly addressed. Breakfast was good with many different options such as pancakes, waffles, bacon as well as plenty of Asian options. As the property is shared with the convention centre, if there is a convention while you’re there prepare for breakfast to be pure chaos. The staff do their best but the sheer volume of people is overwhelming whether you’re there at the 7am opening or later in the morning. It also didn’t go unnoticed that the various “rules” of the hotel are enforced differently for foreigners and locals. Upon arriving at the pool we were always assertively reminded by the lifeguards to shower before entering the pool, which is entirely reasonable but no such direction was given to Filipino patrons who would arrive and jump straight into the pool. We mistakenly assumed that we could enjoy some chips poolside but were immediately swarmed by several staff that told us no outside food or drink were allowed at the pool and would have to pay 200 pesos per person if we continued eating. Again, not unreasonable if that’s the rule but we were left a bit sour as we watched Filipino families enjoy nothing less than full picnics poolside with fruits, drinks, nacho chips etc. That aside, the overall experience was quite pleasant. The location is great, direct access to the beach with plenty of restaurants and markets close by."

"The rooms are clean but really need if upgrading, there are broken fixtures that needed attention. Staff are helpful and friendly, It’s not beach view but walking distance. Breakfast is very limited, Inguess for the price it’s not too bad overall if you are on budget. I booked this hotel as it looks good on website."

"Our very large, clean with a panoramic room on the top 3rd floor did face beach front with no disruption of trees blocking our view. The other ocean front building next to us was under construction as the rooms were completely gutted and the drilling noise was annoying while you were at the beach. Not what you want to hear when you arrive after you flew 18 hrs across the world. Although their posted signs said they were doing some maintenance it was major construction. Not sure when it will completed as I've only been home a few days. Rainy season is coming June. The third back building had a elevator, 6 floors while ours did not for seniors walking up three flights of stairs was exhausting. To look for another hotel and pay more money after I paid for the whole amount for two weeks we decided to stay. Our balcony was the largest I've ever seen and no 5* hotel would beat that. We didn't hear any noise in our room when we were in it. I did hear a rooster several times for hours while on the beach and other guests had their rooms facing the back properties and complained. One thing the hotel does not have road access to the property. Major inconvenience. If you get transportation through the hotel or other source you will either be dragging your luggage on sand for quite a distance 15 min walk or someone will put it all on a cart and push it to the nearest laneway then push it up quite a distance to the main road. Breakfast buffet was all Filipino waste of money."

"The staff was very nice. I do suggest that a door tag be provided to hang on the door when you leave the room - If you would like the room cleaned or not? Also, let the guests know that the staff will need 15 mins to check the room before you check out of the hotel and the end of your stay."

"They lied to even as we were checking in. They claimed the rooms had a Terrace. There is one Terrace on the top floor which is shared by everyone else staying on the top floor, the beach view from the room is nonexistent. You open your curtains to see roof tops of buildings next to the hotel. If you are lucky you might be able to get a glimpse of the water between the roof tops. We had booked a premiere room and nothing inside was premiere. Rooms were small and furniture outdated and beat up. Beware the website paints a different picture of what you are really getting. I can’t believe their Starr rating. I am thinking it was fake reviews posted by the people who work there. They would not let us cancel any of the three nights we booked, fyi we had booked two rooms for three nights. So we didn’t check out and went up the way and booked at the Astoria two rooms for 3nights. We went back on the 3rd day to checkout. We didn’t want these crooks getting double booking for these crappy rooms. I can go on how bad this place is but it doesn’t deserve this much advertising talking about it. "
