"Xanadu Makadi Bay has the worst management I have ever experienced. After a 15-hour flight with two children, the reception and manager were completely disrespectful and unprofessional. They demanded an extra $450 even though my reservation was correct and my children’s ages were entered properly. When I asked for help contacting Expedia to confirm the booking, they refused and left me to handle everything on my own. Instead of showing hospitality, they caused stress and humiliation at the very start of our vacation. This hotel’s management clearly does not care about guests, fairness, or basic respect. I would never return and strongly advise others to avoid this property"

"A world class Hotel, very professional and helpful staff, special thanks to Reception team Mr. Mohamed and Mr. Yousef for great support. Amazing Aquapark, I didn't see any similar in size and variety like this one actually it has all what you can imagine, great fun for adults, kids and infants. Great Buffet with lots of varieties and new dishes every day. The beach bus service is very convenient and the beach is a lot of fun with clean crystal water and a nice coral reef with an amazing collection of fish. I recommend it 100% and will love to come back again for sure"

"We had a great time as a family of 5 in the resort for ten nights. There is plenty to do with the kids including aqua aerobics, Zumba, volleyball, tennis, mini golf, belly dancing and a wide choice of swimming pools and water slides (we counted 11 in total). Drinks and refreshments were easy to reach and the main restaurant offers great variety and options. We also used the kids club and went to the kids disco at night which is very popular with young ones. Big thanks to Gazza and Kimo for all the entertainment, Fayza and her colleague for the massage and Mostafa for the great service at the Fellucca restaurant. And thanks to the room service team for the special towel arrangements in the shape of a birthday cake for our son’s 10th birthday! The only thing we missed was a good cup of coffee. There was not a decent cup of tea or coffee anywhere to help caffeine-fuelled parents!! An easy win if the resort could fix that. Strong recommendation to make sure you bring enough sun cream. We ran out and bought a local cream which although it stopped us burning, it gave us a rash and the kids’ skin was stinging. We ended up spending a lot for a European brand. We really had a good time. "

"I’ve never been to an all inclusive before where everything costs extra - from fresh orange juice at breakfast to ice cream. It’s a real shame because the hotel has nice facilities but it’s ruined by the fact they’re trying to get more money out of you. The bar closes at 11pm and if you ask for more than two drinks (served in tiny glasses) the staff are often very rude to you. We’ve been to many all inclusive hotels and I’ve never experienced it before where the bar staff are so impolite. One barman slammed my mum’s drinks down because she asked for more than two. The food is ok but there’s often very large queues, which again we haven’t been used to at hotels of this standard. Sales people constantly go round the poolside trying to sell you trips and excursions, which is understandable but sometimes stops you from being able to relax. In the evening, the only area to sit and have a drink is by the entertainment, which is very loud. I think the hotel would benefit from opening another bar area or having the mini disco away from this main entertainment area. Due to these issues this hotel really doesn’t feel like a 4 star hotel. We’ve been to lots of similarly rated hotels (including other hotels in Egypt) and this is unfortunately the worst we’ve experienced in a while. If they improve their management and stop charging extra for everything this could be a great hotel!"
