Madeira Island hotel rooms a the El Mouradi Hotels

"They advertise a heated indoor pool, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. unfortunately the water was cold & so was the area where the pool was located. The staff at the hotel were not really interested especially the female receptionist, not Priscilla. Our room 203 was lovely apart from there was very little natural light so you always had to have the light on , even during the day. Breakfast was great, lots of choice, however the room was small & everyone had to sit very close to each other. "

"We couldn’t fault this hotel. Good location. Room was spacious, cleaned daily. Lovely rooftop with great views over Funchal which includes a spacious pool area /bar / restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed on half board, great choice at buffet breakfast. Dinner was a lovely three course, which we enjoyed every night during our five night stay. Would highly recommend."

"The breakfast buffet was exceptional. Dinner was okay. The front desk was very nice specially Diogo. However the facility is a bit dated. Overall a nice stay and conveniently close to the cruise port. "

"Fantastic breakfast buffet, glorious views from the Junior Suite. Ventilation in the room was poor though - the Aircon was a little underpowered. The beds were huge, but provide little back support. Wonderful location, perfect for both relaxing holidays and hiking holidays. I will return one day."

"Staff, especially at the bar, was very nice. The room was very spacious and clean. The pool and rooftop were an excellent amenity and the location was central to everything by the water and beautiful gardens. The breakfast was delicious and varied, very fresh with fresh baked bread and pastels de nata."

"João, Carla and the great kitchen and cleaning staff went the extra mile to make our one week stay comfortable. The room we got was an upgrade because we had found the first room’s bathroom uncomfortably cramped. The room we got was an extra story to climb stairs but João insisted that he carry our bags. He was also super helpful with ideas and bus connections. The large windows opened wide in the evenings to let fresh cool air in. If we had to be inside during the day, the AC could cool the room down in minutes. The bed and bathroom shower were roomy and comfortable. Daily room service left the place neat and tidy when came back from our daily adventures. "
