Nice property and grounds, service and food good at breakfast. The big disappointment was having to pay £20/pp to use the swimming pool, which is the first time I can remember having to pay to use a pool at hotel. this should be made clear when booking

Positives - beautiful hotel in great grounds. Had tea in the restaurant which was very good. Bed was huge. Negatives - couldn't get bath to work and my wife was kept awake during the night by noise in room next door. Use of the spa was £20 per person (which I was willing to pay) but was then told we couldn't use it until 5pm. We'd arrived at 3pm with plan to go in spa before our friends arrived later.

Spa was lovely and enjoyable. However my room smelled of stale smoke, the bathroom had mould round bath. No air con and window did not open. When I reached up to try and open it was very dusty. No mini fridge. At the bar I was the only customer, i said i was sat outside (in view of the bar) but drink did not arrive. When i went in, it was just sat unattended on the bar. Felt overall a little disappointed. Chose not to stay a second night.

Lovely grounds and fabulous spa facilities. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The ladies at the reservation entrance were all exceptional. Jasmine who works at the spa did a fabulous job on sprucing up my tired hands. I felt like a Disney princess after she did her magic on my pedicure!

First of all booked a night away for valentines. Arrived to a rude male receptionist told us the spa was fully booked and could only use the next morning at 7am. We checked into the room which was so outdated. Radiator didn’t work so we was freezing, they did give us a portable heater. We then went down to the spa to have a look and asked if we could use it straight away said yes no problem. £15 each for evening use plus £10 each for robe and towel. Many other couples were turning up and booking straight on so can’t seem to understand why the reception is saying it’s fully booked when it wasn’t even busy. The spa.. wow. Unbelievable. I would come back just for the spa use. I do have to point out though the sun loungers were absoloutley filthy , was either mould or just pure dirt. The staff in the spa were lovely and friendly. We didn’t eat in the restaurants as the prices were just ridiculous so drove 5 minutes and got dominoes. Check out again unfriendly manner. Never asked if we enjoyed our stay or even a thank you. Will come again for the spa but not for the hotel.

Room very comfortable and dinner good but stay spoiled by a fire alarm evacuation at around 1.20 for over an hour outside in the cold and wet with no guidance or information on what to do. No apparent fire or fire brigade attendance and no informed staff available. This led to a very disturbed night. We were informed in the morning that it had been a false alarm and the culprit had been found. Better management of the event would have been appreciated.

In the shower, there is no shower gel bottle so had to reach over the sink to get some shower gel. If there was a soap dish, I would have put some in there and brought into the shower.

Perfect Stay for Grandparents – Accessible, Warm & Welcoming Booked a stay here for my grandparents and they were overjoyed. There is no lift at the property, had to carry bags all the way by stairs to the second floor. Too many lady bugs in the room. Service was poor. Called reception for bottled water which was never delivered despite following up. Shower tap was too hard to turn. Water pressure from shower was low. No hand shower in the bath tub. Overall not a great experience.
