Great Stay at AKA

AKA provides a great option for people looking for an apartment like set up rather than a hotel with daily amenities. The rooms are bright, spacious and clean. Extra towels, etc are easily available from the friendly staff. The WeHo location is great. There's a nice spacious gym, lovely pool and deck. Will definitely stay here again - however if you want a traditional hotel with services, would recommend an alternative.

Love the AKA for apartment size, amenities, staff are friendly and helpful. Nice little gym and pool area. Third stay here and it’s my second time with a sunset view but unfortunately there is no view as both times we have had the back of a massive billboard where we should be looking at Sunset Blvd out of a lovely big floor to ceiling window. The billboard covers both living area and bedroom. Apartments should not be rented out sighting a Sunset view when it is restricted and not just a little. Disappointing!

Very good stay!

Second time staying in Aka West Hollywood, and it didn’t disappoint. Apartments have plenty of room, very clean, with friendly helpful staff, all in a great area. If I have one small issue during this visit, it was the restricted view of Sunset due to a massive billboard in front of both sitting area and bedroom windows. If the view is restricted it should be included in the room information. Other than that we look forward to returning.

Clean, spacious and quiet 1 BR suite with amazing views of downtown. I enjoyed the kitchen with the burr mill for coffee beans and the in-suite washer & dryer (one packet of complementary detergent). The apartment smelled horrendous like an animal died nearby. I alerted the staff and they had someone look at it which helped for about 12 hours but the smell came back. I alerted the staff again and they did nothing. They were unhelpful and unapologetic for the issue. They did not move my apartment and the smell ruined the weeklong stay. They could have cared less and offered me nothing not even a “sorry” for the issue. I had to purchase room spray in an attempt to mask the smell. Would avoid this property at all costs.

From now on, our place to stay of choice in LA

The location is great, nice neighbourhood and pretty close to all landmarks and points of interest. Easy to escape to the beach, too. Property was very clean on arrival. Rooms are cleaned once a week only, unlike in a traditional hotel, but this was not an issue for us as we are pretty tidy anyway (additional cleaning can be requested for a hefty fee). The day the cleaners came they did a very thorough job. The swimming pool and the gym are great. The private cinema looked like a great idea too, but we never go round to use it. Parking might have been the only snag, as late in the evenings all the spots in P2 were taken, so we always had to drive down to P3 (I know, not a big issue at all, but this is the only snag I found so had to mention it). However, also important to note: all hotels in the vicinity charge $60-$75/night for parking, whereas at the AKA it was $15/night. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had several deliveries sent to us while we were there; unfortunately, the last delivery arrived after check-out but the staff made a point to personally contact me to advise about the parcel. We made good use of the kitchen too, as well as of the washer and dryer. As a family of four, having beds in separate rooms and being able to get up at staggered times to have breakfast was a great bonus. Being able to wash our laundry meant we did not have to pack more suitcases. Need to mention the great views we had of the city, even though we were 'only' on the 2nd floor!
