"Our stay at Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon was unforgettable.
Check-in was seamless and handled with genuine care—excellent customer service from the start. Ordering food to-go was quick and easy, and the options were delicious and beautifully presented.
The sauna and gym were clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.
Dinner was a highlight—especially the roasted vegetables and Icelandic lamb. Great service and a wonderful selection of drinks made the evening even better.
We also spent time enjoying drinks while waiting for the aurora borealis, and the staff was incredibly accommodating throughout.
And then—the grand finale—the northern lights appeared - subtle, but beautiful. After a storm and with another one approaching, it felt like such a gift.
This hotel is truly the perfect place to experience Iceland’s magic.

"We stayed here for 2 nights whilst we covered the south coast in Iceland, this room came with tv/private bathroom/coffee maker etc. We also had the opportunity to go for breakfast each morning which we took advantage of as prices in Iceland for a meal are quite expensive. Breakfast was great with a mix of different options and staff at breakfast were 10/10, parking outside the hotel was also super easy. A couple of gripes would be that our blind seemed to be not working so we had to fight to get them to open and you’re advised to not use the shower for long because there isn’t a lot of hot water, for what we paid (this was the most expensive place across 6 days) it would have been good to be able to take a hot shower at any time but I guess this is to ensure all guests can get hot water so not a major issue. Last of all as you are so far out there aren’t any shops/places to eat so we decided to eat in the hotel, perhaps our fault but we weren’t aware you had to make a reservation, we arrived at the dining area and no one sat us so we stood there for a couple minutes, once we took a seat one girl seemed to keep looking at us but never came over and after 15 minutes we asked a waiter if we could get service, he hesitated and gave us menus (2 different menus for my partner and I) and then we waited another 10 minutes and we got up and left and ate at a restaurant nearby which was delicious. I can’t say that the hotel was super busy with seats remaining so unsure why this happend"
"Ample parking, perfect location to see Aurora. Wonderful and understanding host. Great facilities, all round amazing experience, definitely recommend."
"Beautiful location. Cabin is spacious facing a lake. Very beautiful. Heated floor, friendly staff. The onsite dinner is outstanding! Great place to see northern light. Unfortunately we did not see one during our stay. The only complaint is hot water in the shower only lasted about 10 minutes then ice cold. The breakfast is limited and dull. "
"The room is small, basic and clean. It had three twin beds that were very comfortable and clean. Staff were very nice. The breakfast was outstanding. The location is remote but suited our trip to the Glacier and allowed us to see the Iceberg lagoon and Diamond beach. "
"check in went smooth. staff was friendly. Room was clean. Front desk didn't make any attempt to show us the northern lights. shower was bit smaller, it was so windy, i felt cold air in the room. need a better heating system"
"Really lovely stay at Horgsland Cottages. Incredible location and very easy to find. Place was very cosy.
In the top room, we weren't able to adjust the heating and so it was abit too hot for us at night, but the other rooms had indiviual temperature dials. Nice convenience store in reception where you could buy coffee for the machine, drinks and snacks."
