"We were driving from Reykjavik to the glacier areas. It was a for plus hour drive. We decided to spend the night out there and couldn't have found a nicer place to stay. They have a short summer window here and we would have been wiser to have booked this some time ago as it was quite pricey. Lovely place, nice people, easy access to the local tourist sights."

"Clean, reasonable size. Very basic and smaller than pictures. Missing off things (utensils, plates, etc) which would have made it better (had some but not enough). Very small bathroom and slow WiFi. 10 minute drive down a gravel road to get there from the main road. Nothing else nearby, very isolated and no facilities on site. Underwhelming, expected more for the money we paid."

"The stay was fine and pretty much what I expected—basic but adequate. The room was clean, and everything throughout the property was acceptable and well maintained. The room did get quite hot, which made sleeping a little less comfortable. One thing to be aware of is the access road. The hotel is reached via about 6 km of rough, rocky road, which requires very slow driving and can be a bit frustrating. If you’re concerned about your rental car or prefer paved roads, this is worth considering. Overall, we had no major complaints, and the hotel delivered a decent stay. That said, given the exceptionally high reviews, I was expecting something more memorable. It was perfectly fine, clean, and comfortable enough, but it didn’t quite live up to the outstanding reputation suggested by the ratings."
