"This hotel has eveything you might need with well maintained rooms. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We received a welcome gift of Swiss chocolate, breakfast was well organized and foods were kept supplied. Coffees offered were plentiful and good. This hotel is right down the funicular from the Lugano train station.....no lugging your baggage, just wonderful!! If I were to be in Lugano again, this is the hotel where I would stay again!"

"We stayed for two nights and the experience was shockingly poor. We had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door from the beginning, but hotel personnel entered while we were out, moved our personal belongings and threw away papers I had placed with my medication. Another occurrence while we were sleeping in the afternoon a male staff member entered the room without knocking and walked all the way to the bed, and after realising he said he had the wrong room. This is the staff who’s usually at the entrance and helps with parking, probably he wanted to clear or help with luggage for another room.. Around 20–30 minutes later, another housekeeping staff member entered again, probably for cleaning or who knows why despite the same Do Not Disturb sign!! Unacceptable! The personnel has no sense of being cautious and at leat knock. Instead they all just to barge in! The room also could not be locked from the inside, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. We reported everything to reception immediately, but there was no proper follow-up, no real apology from management and no gesture at checkout. Felt like they didn’t really care. The room was decent, but the staff training, privacy standards and guest safety were completely unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. I would not stay here again and do not recommend."

"I almost don’t want to tell anyone about this place, but then the team work so hard, they deserve to be busy! I can’t recommend this place highly enough. From the moment we stepped into reception, we were treated like VIPs, the staff are without exception, incredible. Warm, friendly, professional- every part of the experience feels five star. The family spa is beautiful, the grounds are stunning, the views breathtaking, and the food and drink amazing. We loved waking up to the spectacular views, getting the most gorgeous breakfast and then wandering around the botanical gardens, seeing the donkeys and exploring. A day trip to Lugano is a must, as is Menaggio with the ferry over to Bellagio. Tremezzo and Gandria are also good trips. The hotel was really peaceful when we were there in early May, we didn’t use the outdoor pool as the weather was a bit changeable, but it’s such a great base from which to explore. It’s in a fairly remote spot, so you can’t really walk out of the hotel to other places but Lugano and Porlezza are both a short drive away and the restaurants onsite are great. Word of warning, if you fly in to malpensa airport and drive to the hotel, take the route through Switzerland and Lugano, not the east side of the lake. The roads are pretty treacherous, mountain side and winding and the Italians drive a bit crazy! We will be back to the PSM, we just loved it."

"I was greeted warmly at the front desk and advised that I had received a room upgrade! Our room was clean and spacious with a fridge and a small balcony. The bed was very comfortable too. Self-parking was easy with access to the hotel via a lift. We were centrally located in Locarno and close to the waterfront walkway which made for a pleasant evening walk. We were offered a 10% off coupon for breakfast but did not end up using it. Friendly hotel - we would definitely stay there again!"

"The whole stay was wonderful. Exceeded expectations in every way. Food was amazing quality & reasonably priced. Breakfast had everything you need and so fresh. Views and spa facilities were incredible. Couldn’t recommend enough. I am gluten free and only had to tell the restaurant once. The next day they remembered, freshly made gluten free bread every day. Gluten free nibbles with drinks. Perfect. Massive shout out and thank you to Luca P who made our last meal so special. Very attentive and attention to deal was second to none. Thank you Kurhaus for the most amazing stay. "
