  • As Salinas Naturais de Rio Maior, também conhecidas como Salinas da Fonte da Bica, estão situadas no sopé da Serra dos Candeeiros, a três quilómetros de Rio Maior, em Portugal. São compartimentos – talhos - feitos de cimento ou de pedra, de tamanho variado e pouco fundos, para onde, por regueiras, é conduzida a água salgada que se tira de um poço. Presentemente, a água é elevada por meio de um motor e distribuída segundo um sistema conjuntamente aceite e respeitado (nem sempre) por todos os proprietários. Os esgoteiros, as eiras e as casas de madeira para armazenagem do sal, completam o conjunto do que é denominado Marinhas de Sal de Rio Maior. Uma mina de sal-gema, muito extensa e profunda, segundo os técnicos, atravessada por uma corrente subterrânea que alimenta um poço, faz com que a água dele extraída seja salgada, sete vezes mais salgada que a do mar. Da sua exposição ao sol e ao vento e consequente evaporação da água obtêm-se o sal, depositado no fundo dos talhos e que depois é colocado em montes, em forma de pirâmides, para secar até ser recolhido. O processo é rudimentar e semelhante ao usado nas salinas da beira-mar. Só há diferença no vale pitoresco que as rodeia, no poço, no estilo próprio dos marinheiros (como são conhecidos os homens que trabalham nas salinas), nas casas de madeira e no ar campestre que se respira.

Beautiful property, lovely pool and vineyards. Room was so clean and beautifully decorated. The only downside was that we were not informed that the nearby town was having a week long party during our stay. So, there was Very loud Music all night long until 6am, which made sleeping very difficult. Would love to experience the property when that was not happening.

Exceptional place!!!

Wow, if you’re thinking of staying here don’t hesitate, just press book! The property is beautiful, very relaxing and serves lovely food and delicious wine, but the most exceptional part are the staff, particularly Ana and Sandra who looked after us during our stay. Our plan for the 4 days we were there was complete rest and relaxation, so we organised taxi transfers through the hotel, however many people used it as a base to see more of the area. We had all our meals at the property, all of the food was excellent. The whole place was spotless and we were so disappointed to leave (we would have extended our stay if it wasn’t fully booked). Already wondering when we can return.

While this winery's main focus is geared towards the quality of their wines; from the wine itself to the craftsmanship of the label, they also managed to tie in an incredibly personalised hotel experience. From the moment you are greeted, you feel pampered with every attention. Ana, Sandra and Strella will take care of every need and anything you could possibly imagine for a unique luxurious experience. The way this estate is decorated is absolutely breathtaking.The attention to detail is worthy of any top rated 5 star hotel. The owners, Antonio and Isabella are very humbled to share their pride and joy wich conveys their family legacy. You will not regret making this small detour from the coast to enjoy everything this gem has to offer. Do yourself a favour and indulge, book yourself a small retreat here! Thank you to the entire Casa Romana Vini family, we will be back for sure!

Wow! Wir sind sehr begeistert von dieser Unterkunft. Sie hat eine ruhige schöne Lage und einen tollen Außenbereich mit Pool und Weinbergen, in denen man spazieren gehen kann. Das Personal hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen - besonders Fatima hat unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas Besonderem gemacht. Es fühlte sich alles sehr familiär an und die Zimmer sowie das gesamte Haus haben einen liebevollen Einrichtungsstil mit vielen schönen Details. Das Essen wurde frisch gekocht und war sehr lecker. Und wurde darüber hinaus an unsere Wünsche angepasst. Das hinzugebuchte Weintasting hat sich ebenfalls gelohnt und ist nur zu empfehlen. Wir können jedem diese Unterkunft ans Herz legen.
