The Belmont Hotel

8/10 Good

"Whilst the rooms are a little dated and creaky, they are clean and reasonably comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly as well. The car park is free and convenient, the only issues with it may be 1. It gets quite full and is a bit tricky manouvering a big car around it and into a space. 2) You will see rats running around it so beware. 3. Some of the buildings at the end of the car park seem to be used by people paying for "services" at nighttime - so had a few suspicious looking people appearing near the car one of the nights. Apart from that it's conveniently located and a decent enough place to stay."

Leicester Marriott Hotel

"We had a mostly pleasant stay at this suburban Marriott location. Parking was plentiful and secure compared with hotels closer to Leicester’s city center. The room was a good size and quiet even on a busy weekend. We also made use of the well-equipped gym, which was the main amenity at the hotel. Our only complaint was the lack of flexibility around breakfast. We were told we could not cancel it because we had booked a prepaid rate. This felt unnecessarily rigid and put a slight damper on an otherwise positive stay. Since we had already paid, we did try the breakfast despite having very little time. It was well presented with a good variety of options for different preferences and dietary requirements. Overall, this was the best-equipped and most comfortable hotel we stayed at during our UK travels. Despite the minor frustration with breakfast, we would happily stay here again and would recommend it, particularly for travelers with a car."
