Gardens at Langar Hall. Typical of the Vale of Belvoir villages, Langar is built on a shallow ridge above the floor of the Vale. 54676, on the edge of the village, sits right on the edge of the ridge. The main landscaped gardens to the north drop steeply away from the drive and car-park towards a "ribbon" lake set out in a grid pattern, see the 1:25000 OS map. The stone wall with the pineapple finials is all that remains of an ornamental bridge which once crossed an extension of the lake, now filled in.

The lake is through the trees to the right while to the left is an area of mixed woodland and shrubby planting, well populated by what appears to be Great Angelica (Angelica altropupurea). Hotel was nice and welcome was good. I was rudely awaken at 5am in my room from the sound of deliveries and recycling glass bottles which is awful considering the reason we use hotels is to sleep. It has completely ruined my day with work due to tiredness I am now facing. Not one at all
