What you can expect
Begin your adventure at the historic Belvoir Castle, a magnificent Regency stronghold that has been the ancestral home of the Duke of Rutland for almost 1,000 years.
From Saturday 29th November to Tuesday 30th December, A Magical Night Before Christmas at Belvoir Castle will invite you to tour the early 19th Century historic home decorated with elaborate and festive adornments.
You will be transported to a Christmas fairytale of colour and opulence as soon as they enter the iconic Guard Room – before being carried with festive scents up the grand double staircase to The Elizabeth Saloon, The State Dining Room, The King’s Room, The Old Kitchen and The Ballroom.
Discover the lavish State Rooms, filled with priceless art and antiques, and see for yourself why it was chosen as a stunning double for Windsor Castle in the hit series “The Crown.”
Next, step outside to explore the glorious gardens. The estate boasts a variety of formal gardens and naturalistic woodlands, including restored 18th-century plans by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Lose yourself in the tranquil Japanese Woodland, admire the vibrant colors of the Rose Garden, and follow scenic walks with panoramic views across the Vale of Belvoir.
Families can enjoy the Adventure Playground offering a fantastic outdoor experience for children of all ages. Set within the beautiful grounds, the playground provides a safe and exciting environment where children can play, explore, and burn off energy while parents relax and enjoy the surroundings. During weekends and school holidays visitors have the chance to meet friendly farm animals in a beautiful countryside setting, creating memorable experiences for the whole family.
Conclude your day at Belvoir Retail Village, the estate's lovingly restored Victorian industrial complex, now a vibrant hub for artisan shopping and dining. Browse our stores championing local produce, artisan gifts and homewares, fashion & more!
Unwind with a coffee at Belvoir Bistro, or perhaps stay for a bite to eat! Woodfired pizzas are available daily. Pre-booking isn't required, you're welcome to just pop in.
