"The hotel needs extensive updating. Yes probably 100 years ago it was exclusive and upmarket. And yes the Queen and many famous people stayed, But they wouldn’t step foot inside now as it’s so run down. If the hotel had a refurb it would be amazing but unfortunately it’s very dated.
The room was like going back in time 50 years ago everything including furniture and TV was so old. It’s not cheap to stay either we could have stayed at Hampton Hilton for cheaper.
However on the positive side Breakfast was very nice.
Was disappointed had to pay £14 to park vehicle in the hotel car park overnight also."
"The hotel is very tired looking. Breakfast was poor and needs more organising; bread not filled, no glasses available, food not available although 30 mins till breakfast ended. Gym facilities and pool was good as well as the bar and its menu. Overall a nice located hotel but needs some updating."
"Plenty of parking, the site and environment is beautiful and quiet. Not many staff but they are helpful and responsive to sms /email. Facilities of leisure centre is adequate.
The interior decoration is classical but a bit old. WiFi is weak.
Overall, we have had a nice stay. Worth a stay in a listed building! "
