My host family took me to Lake Takerkoust (its dam powers all of Amizmiz and Marrakech) for a hike. Up here, you can see the entire floodplain and the river tributary that flows into the main lake. Far away on the other side, you can see a motorbike riding across the dirt road as if a speck of dust was slowly floating across space. As we sat and ate our picnic of fruit and veggy sticks, I couldn't help but wonder how much more Morocco is than just its stereotypical perception, a desert.

"My friend and I stayed here during a trip to climb Mount Toubkal and it couldn't have been better. From the moment we arrived to departure we were treated exceptionally well by all the staff at the hotel who were friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful in every way. "We stayed for a few nights as a family with two young kids and loved the farm environment with its playground and games like football and table tennis. The family room was lovely, with beautiful gardens, hot showers, and very comfortable beds. Breakfast on the sun terrace was delicious and set us up perfectly for the day. "The staff are very kind, helpful and accommodating. They go above and beyond their duties and responsibilities. My airlines lost my luggage and the hotel staff assisted me in where to purchase clothes and basic necessities for my vacation. The hotel is clean and the breakfast buffet is very good and they serve variety of good food. If you are planning to visit Marrakech, I highly recommend this hotel. "

"I visited during the AFCON 2025 tournament in January, and interestingly, this was the same hotel the Super Eagles of Nigeria stayed in—they had checked out just a few hours before I arrived. The exterior of the hotel was a bit misleading at first; the frontage was quite busy with parked cars and taxis. However, once inside, the atmosphere changed completely. The lobby was spacious and welcoming, though it occasionally felt a little chilly. The pool area looked fantastic, but the weather was too cold to enjoy it. Breakfast was outstanding—truly one of the best I’ve had in recent times, both in quality and variety. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The hotel’s location is a major plus. It sits right next to a mall, making it extremely convenient with plenty of dining options just steps away. It’s also within walking distance of many places, which made getting around very easy. It definitely looked like a good pick for a resort type experience when the weather (temperature) allows for it. In my time there, it was a bit quiet in the common areas due to the chilly temperature. "

"Five star staff all the way, so helpful and courteous, beautiful Riad, we had a large room with comfy bed. Enjoyed a Hamman-would recommend it for a new experience. Staff gave us sandwiches, fruit and some of their home made shampoo on departure, such a lovely surprise. Location was perfect. "
