" Shower felt like being power washed. No shelf or shower caddy for the shower so all items needed to be placed on the shower floor. The sliding door to the non-code compliant deck(railing is to low) was unlocked un-abled to be locked. Easy to walk to the neighboring decks. No-one at the front desk had to go through a process to finally get a number to call. It had snowed that morning and the gentleman before us had gotten stuck at the entry as it hadn't been plowed, and he had no service to call the Owner. He used our phone and when he asked about when the parking lot was going to be plowed, informed it wouldn't be until the next morning. Lastly the WIFI was not working our entire time their which didn't affect us, as we could still access the internet but several other guest complained because they didn't. Spotty service in the area. Lastly way overpriced for the room size."
"Great place to stay for a weekend getaway, the home is historic, unique, and beautiful. The host was very accommodating and the property manager was happy to help with making the stay an incredible experience. I recommend the Prescott House to anyone looking to make the most out of a trip to the Adirondacks. "
"Everything was fine indoors, the exterior could be improved. Outside one cracked window looked like a junkyard with old cars.
The price was right as was the location. Basic accommodations"
"Staff entered my room without permission and without knocking. Just because hotel staff have keys does not mean they can enter a guest’s room whenever they want. Guest privacy should be a top priority for any hotel, and this behavior was completely unacceptable.
In addition, I am still trying to receive the $150 USD cash deposit that I paid at check-in. When I went to check out, no staff member was available. I was told that if I wanted my refund, I should leave the key inside the room and wait until 8:00 AM for the office to open. This makes no sense. Guests may need to check out early, especially if they have other travel plans or bookings during the night or early morning.
Hotels should have staff available to process check-outs and return deposits when guests leave. We could not wait until 8:00 AM because we had another trip planned. It was very frustrating that no one was available to assist us or return the deposit at that time.
Overall, the lack of respect for guest privacy and the poor handling of the deposit refund made this a very disappointing experience."
