Hotels near Lake Carlsbad Golf Course

"Where to begin...the room looked tidy and since we hadnt slept in 36hours due to air delays we grabbed dinner at a great Mexican spot and then couldn't get back in our room. Key card worked, door handle didnt. The clerk said we just needed to jiggle it...alot. but we did get in after 2 minutes of jiggling and prepared to get ready for bed even tho it was only 8. Oh no. There is no soap or shampoo. Back across the parking lot for 2 bars of soap 1/8" thick with a diameter of 1 1/2". Jumped in the spacious walkin shower and no where to put soap or shampoo except on the floor of the shower. Not easy when you are both in your seventies. Great bed/very comfortable but the next morning we have a small coffeemaker and coffee but no basket to hold the coffee (it wasnt the type that have the coffee and basket in the pouch) or cups. Get dressed and back across the parking lot to be told they have coffee in the lobby. But I had to get dressed to get it. But i did grab a cup for water to take my meds with. There was free breakfast but the bite size bagels were too small for the toaster and you had to eat your cereal with a fork. All in all a miserable experience although every time i had a problem they said they would make a note of it...including my suggestion that tissues would be nice instead of blowing your nose on toilet paper. I didnt miss that they was no fitness equipment because i got plenty of exercise jiggling the door handle and walking to ge office. "

"Room was not clean. Stains on bedsheets. Floors and bathroom dirty. Had do ask for the room change. In the new room, still unclean beds and fridge didn’t work. "

"This hotel is positioned in such a way that to access it you must enter through a trailer park, which feels uncomfortable and somewhat unsafe. For the first time in many years, this is the first hotel I have seen that has a sign on one of the walls after the business center stating that they are “not responsible for items in the room.” I found this highly ridiculous and concerning, as it reflects a poor sense of security or negligence. In my room there was a light bulb that was not working; I reported it in the morning. During the night, some of the outlets were also not functioning properly, and my phone did not charge overnight. In the morning, I could not find a single outlet that worked. Despite all of this, the front desk employees were very attentive and apologized for what happened in the morning. Thank you for that, but this stay cost money and the facilities need improvement."
