"The most immaculately clean dog friendly hotel room I have ever visited. Absolute bonus having the complimentary spa use, the pool was lovely and warm and the jacuzzi was a dream. The food from the bar was delicious with many gluten free options. Tasha served us our food and she was a star so helpful and friendly. The only suggestion I could give to improve is modernising the hallways a little and improving the appearance of the room windows from the outside as they looked a little underwhelming on first arrival, however these are just superficial things as they were perfectly clean and everywhere else looked beautiful!"

"Check in was straight forward, and we were shown to our room. Room was clean and ready for us. After showering and getting changed , we went to the bar for a beer. Good choice of beers , and the bar staff were very friendly. Enjoyed our food there too. Breakfast was lovely , and we left feeling refreshed and well fed. We were walking the Sandstone Trail , so it was an ideal stop over for us. Highly recommended "

"We were asked on the first night not to eat in the restaurant as they had two bus trips and it would be noisy and service would be slow. We struggled to get a seat in the bar area, eventually getting a seat at a low table, not ideal for eating at. Service at the bar was very slow, I got my meal eventually, my friend had to ask where his was and was served eventually. Second night was not much better, we did insist on eating in the restaurant and it was a bit more civilised. The bar was very busy and the staff really struggling."

"Absolutely awful. I spent 30 minutes in the room before deciding to book a travelodge down the road and left as soon as possible. I’m not a fussy person and can sleep anywhere but this has to be the worst place I’ve stayed, (attempted to stay). The smell was awful. The carpets were disgusting and sticky. Bathroom full of mould and rust. Stains on walls. Pictures on the walls ripped. Genuinely felt the room was a health hazard which is why I decided to leave. The only good thing I can say is the receptionist kindly waited for me to arrive as I didn’t get there until late. Need to contact someone to discuss a refund. Pictures on hotels.com are faked and nothing like the reality. Even the picture of the outside of the hotel is faked. Happy guests lodge? I’m sorry but that should NOT be the name. Please please avoid. Save yourself the trouble and spend a tiny bit more for guaranteed cleanliness and comfort. "

"We arrived late in the evening and the welcome was a little underwhelming (must have been a long day). The only slight issues with the room were a downlighter hanging from the ceiling and the plug not sealing the bath properly, so we were time limited in the bath before all the water escaped! These were minor issues and not deemed worthy of reporting. Room cleanliness and comfort was very good and slept well. Day 1 breakfast was a bit of a let down, in as much as mugs supplied were all dirty and when we selected plates for the buffet, the first 6 were also dirty. The staff on that day were behaving like school kids and clearly waiting to go home! I did mention the cleanliness as I left. Breakfast day 2 was like we'd walked into a different restaurant. Much more professional and clean cups! Our final advice we gave them on food (we both work in catering) was that they didn’t have any clear allergy information displayed for breakfast. As it is a buffet there are no menus and we were not asked about allergies. During our stay, I managed to lose my room key. I was anticipating an ordeal over it, but quite the opposite. We were assisted by a very friendly gentleman on reception. Also on checkout we were greeted in a very warm welcoming manor. Would have been nice to have had that on arrival! All in all. A good stay. Nothing in life is perfect and despite those few issues, we would happily stay there again. "

"Nice location. Everything fine. Nice to have 2 chairs in a double room, often other places only provide 1. I have no problems with anything here, but if you're looking for points for improving ratings, I'd say TV could have been bigger (couldn't really watch it from the bed in room 6), and it would have been nice to be able to help yourself to breakfast items like cereals, milk, juice."

"Arrived to food in the fridge, scraps in the sink and a dirty bathroom. No hand towels or soap, and the beds looked slept in. There was a phone charger plugged in at the sofa. Looks like someone is living there. The landlord refunded in full, seems their cleaner may have misled them so not necessarily their fault but wouldn't stay again"
