We booked for our 10 wedding anniversary and Christian at the front desk put us in the top room with beautiful Mountain View’s and the room was just full of life! "I was there for one night and chose this hotel because it is close to the airport and the hotel shuttle was free. The hotel staff were all very helpful and responsive. I was not able to lower the seat, and within 5 minutes, 3 different people tried to help and the chair was replaced. I also needed to change my $20 bill, and again they were very helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, with a variety of options. Of course it was not like a huge hotel's offering, but I was happy with it. "

"The hotel was amazing. It is well kept and the property was beautiful. The staff were amazing and were very friendly. The Hotel Area Manager Dennis Whitelaw met us at the lobby when we just arrived and he was amazing. He welcome us and even give us gift (Costa Rica Coffee) which we really appreciate. We love the good and we will definitely be back."

"Overall, our stay at Barceló San José was okay. The hotel, rooms, and lobby were clean, and the staff was nice. However, the pool area could use better maintenance since there were a lot of leaves and debris, especially in the kiddie pool. The hotel also feels a bit outdated. Breakfast was just okay — it would be nice to have more variety and international food options for guests from different countries."
