Fantastic location, clean, quiet and charming. We really enjoyed our stay, and appreciated daily cleaning and bed arrangment service. Loads of good places to eat around, and on a rainy day, itvwas very close to the Nishiki market.
A lovely gem in a very central and safe location in Kyoto. The staff knew what I wanted and even took extra steps to help me maximize my stay, like calling my room when I'd forgotten about the breakfast I'd booked. It's a quick bus or subway ride from Kyoto Station, and I will certainly come back for another stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The location is great with lots of shopping and dining option and close to bus and train station. The biggest issue is the hotel is dated and lack proper maintenance. The bathroom smells bad will some sewage smell. I wish the management can invest money in fixing it up and it will be a great place to stay
Typical Japanese experience. The room is spacious, we slept on the tatames/futons which the staff makes for you. And kudos to the staff that are beyond helpful and gentle. On top of that the hotel has its own Onsen (public baths). We loved it but we know that this not to everyone. If you want the ordinary, then, well, look for an ordinary hotel.
This Ryokan is very well located and at walking distance to many of the highlights of Kyoto. The staff is very helpful and nice, and the traditional Japanese breakfast good.
However, expect a Ryokan which needs a good amount of refresh (for example very basic bathroom, holes in our bedroom walls and screens, hallways which would benefit for new paint, only one washing machine,…).
The location is very good. The room and bath were very clean and the breakfast was delicious, Japanese style. They made up the futon and brought tea to the room in the evening. Everyone was polite and kind. The public bath was clean and relaxing.
Kyoto Ryokan Hirashin's best feature is its excellent location that allows walkable access to just about every magical aspects of Kyoto: Outrageously fun shopping options, unmatched food choices, outstanding ease to public transportation, awe-inspiring visitation to world-famous temples/shires/palaces/castles/landmarks, etc.
Additionally, staff members were superbly attentive to guests' needs, quick to help, and made my 18-day stay an absolute joy.
This tatami style hotel is clean, quiet and spacious compared to other hotels in Japan. It is very close to the Nishiki market, and is walkable to the metro lines
P
Nice ryokan in the city. Was a very cool experience with a nice onsen as part of the property. Staff were nice, but not as welcoming as I would have imagined. I only stayed for one night and it was great, but I would not stay again.
