One interesting thing about the Akita Castle Hotel is that it is a repository for famous artists and artworks. It has an original Picasso! Access to the airport is easy as there is a local bus which stops at the hotel."

"This is a great place to have an authentic Japanese experience. The traditional rooms with tatami floors were spacious and clean. The bedding was light and warm. The onsen experience was very pleasant. The traditional breakfast was flavorful and so were the welcome snacks. Definitely a valuable experience for those visiting the area."
