"You’re paying 90% for the view of Mount Fuji which is stunning in a good day. The hotel is very poor condition, needs a good refurb, old furniture, old windows, antique air con and nowhere to get a drink or snack. You have to reserve a table for breakfast and it’s mainly Japanese food, same for dinner. In the room the bathroom is so dated you are given 2 bath towels that have seen better days, small Japanese “bowl” cups and no breakfast tea or milk. A cupboard full of “slippers” that anybody could have been wearing before you and look well worn. A general air of neglect hangs over the whole hotel in the corridors and door rooms. 3 nights was 2 too many. Onsen was ok but all the outside glasswork was filthy and obviously hadn’t been washed for a long time. Beautiful setting with view of Mount fugi but not a good hotel."

"We stayed first night elsewhere but needed a hotel closer to the bus station for the second night. This hotel was perfect for that. In fact, the highway express bus stop is in their parking lot. The hotel is also convenient for the theme park but we only walked around that (lines are LONG). They also have a few stores and restaurants in the hotel, or connected to the theme park. Room was smaller than expected but clean. Breakfast was great and worth buying in our purchase - it also had a fabulous view of Mt Fuji in the morning. Only downside was the Onsen access. It’s a public Onsen (not just hotel guests) which after our resort experience the night before was too much hassle (and more strict about clothing and tattoos) "

"I had a wonderful stay at La Vista Hotel. It’s a beautifully designed hotel with a unique character that really stands out. The atmosphere was incredibly comfortable and relaxing, making it easy to fully enjoy the experience. If I visit Lake Kawaguchi again, I would definitely choose to stay here again."

"Breakfast at the Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato was outstanding. One day we got a multicourse Japanese breakfast, and the other day a western one. Both were excellent, but the Japanese breakfast was amazing, esepcially since it was something we were not anticipating. I and my wife are foodies and extremely adventurous omnivores. Discounting buffet breakfasts in five-star hotels, where just the sheer variety overwhelms, we concurred that we had never had breakfast at any hotel anywhere in the world as good as what the Lakeland offered — in spread, quality, taste, and presentation. A solid 10/10. The rooms are very spacious, the interiors are reminiscent of early Japanese modern architecture, the staff is very professional and courteous. Especially notable is the traditional Japanese living space with tatami mats and washi walls, perfect for tea and relaxation. Our room had an unencumbered view of Lake Kawaguchiko to boot. We didn't use the public bath for lack of time, but hope to on another visit."
