"We went on a Japan trip for 2 weeks and this was our favorite ryokan, because they made us feel at home. It's in a little town surrounded by snowy mountains, near Shiga Kogen and Snow Monkey Park. The kaiseki was unbelievable, well worth the price. We don't want to ruin the surprises during dinner and the attention to detail throughout the experience. "The hotel’s remote location and beautiful views were wonderful! The hotel’s shuttle from and to Echigo-Yuzawa Station was very much appreciated. From Check-in to check-out the staff service was excellent. The Japanese/Western room was spacious. We had a corner unit with a view of the snow and trees. The booking came with buffet breakfast and dinner we were so happy and satisfied-the food layout was appetizing and very delicious. "Staff, food, game room, bedrooms, outdoor hot tub, and amenities are over the top amazing and comfortable. Everyone was so kind and went above and beyond making our 4 night stay an epic ski week experience of a lifetime. We made new friends and had everything, and more even, than we needed. If we ever make it back to the area we would definitely stay here again."

"Convenient for public transport and the castle was within walking distance. Unfortunately i was given a smoking room which stank like an old ashtray. The room was heavily nicotine stained and even after using freshner it still smelt.the Free breakfast was limited in choice and not topped up, so first in best selection. The staff are friendly and helpful and i will stay here again but i will specify a non smking room."
