"The staff were wonderful and so kind and helpful. We got in late after driving from tokyo after a 16 hour flight and we were so happy to walk into the room we had. It was clean, large and comfortable. When we woke up the next morning and opened our curtains we were met with the most gorgeous view of the ocean. The breakfast buffet was huge and had a wide variety of choices. You could enjoy eggs and bacon and pancakes or have a plate of sushi and a bowl of rice. Every breakfast drink you could think of. There was a vending machine on the first floor that had beer and water and juice and laundry facilities as well. Not to mention a spa and onsen. The beach was a short stroll from the back door through a beautiful walkway down the steps. If you find yourself in shimoda this is a wonderful choice for a place to call home."

"I really enjoyed my stay at Saint Raphael Villa. I’m a single traveler and the room was just perfect for me and had ever I needed. The room was really cute and cozy and I felt very comfortable there. I also appreciated the access to the kitchen to prepare meals and clean up my dishes. The location is very convenient, less than 10 minutes walk from the bus stop and the beach. There is a beautiful shrine about 10-15 minutes walk from the villa. The neighborhood is calm, safe and quiet."

Views of the coastline from the outdoor air bath and east access to the beach for swimming and surfing were a highlight. "The room was fantastic. We loved it. The beds were so comfortable and the view was so beautiful. We used the onsen and it was magical because we had a full moon. The bath products they have for the guests and the onsen user are the best smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash i have ever used in my 51 years. I don’t know if they sell it in town but if you are around look for them there because I think it’s unique to the area. The front desk was so friendly, even though we didn’t know Japanese. I recommend waking up early for the sunrise. We hope to return soon."

"The hotel has beautiful scenery and a very relaxing atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with a great variety of delicious food. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful. There was a small issue with my reservation, but the team patiently assisted me and resolved everything smoothly. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. While the facilities are a little dated, they are very well maintained. The hot spring was fantastic and incredibly relaxing after a long day. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again in the future."
