Misleading Description
We booked this property as the picture on website looked nice. It said we would share bathroom only with people in our party, this was booked as non-refundable. We only book properties with en-suite usually but as said it would only be shared with our party. Once booking came through I checked the postcode and found that the property was down a private road which you could not view on google maps.
On arrival after a day of travelling the Norfolk coast, we found ourselves outside a Bungalow which was not appealing to the eye. We parked at rear of property and looked in the back of the property. It was full of rubbish/work gear as he was in middle of refurbishment and was not somewhere we would like to stay. Whilst waiting for proprietor he called, knowing we had booked the room (had seen us on CCTV) and asked why we were looking around the property which is on private road and a private residence. I explained that he had given us permission as he had taken our money. When the owner arrived, we found that we would be sharing the bungalow with himself with no lock on door, only a double bed in room and would be sharing bathroom with him. This was not what we had been told on website. So, we decided not to stay.
So, all in all it was a really bad experience. The proprietor would not refund the money to Hotel.com.
Hotels.com have credited my account with 58% of the cost as compensation as owner would not refund. account on Hotels.com but not fuul amount paid.
