"There is an honest balance to be considered here, but in the end my views are positive and I would/will stay here again.
First, the positives. Brilliant location. Super close to King's Cross/St Pancras and Euston train stations, however situated on a lovely quiet tree-lined square with tennis courts. Easy to get to a tube station. Just minutes' walk from nice restaurants and pubs in Bloomsbury (admittedly not an inexpensive place to eat and drink, but really nice). There is a big Waitrose in the nearby shopping centre, plus Boots, coffeeshops, chain restaurants, sushi place. Really, everything you need close by. The rooms are clean, it's very quiet and safe, and the staff are nice and helpful. For the location, good value for money. There are more expensive/luxurious options close by, if that's your thing.
The less positives. The room and bathroom were smaller than I expected for a studio, and a bit tired. I couldn't get the airco to work, but there was a very noisy fan. The freezer (nice to have one) was so noisy I had to switch it off to sleep. But the kitchenette was otherwise well equipped with everything you need. Being able to buy a croissant at the nearby bakery and make my own coffee (using their French press) suited me better than spending stupid money on a hotel breakfast every day. There is no hotel restaurant. The corridors and communal areas all a bit run down, which is a pity.
In conclusion, for the price a good, solid option, and I will stay again."
