"Our 19-day stay at the Southern Sun Rosebank was pleasant, with a late checkout on the 20th day due to a late flight. We occupied two rooms: a twin bedroom and a junior suite. To extend our stay until 6 pm, we paid half the daily rate of the junior suite. The twin room was quite small, and if we hadn't had the junior suite to relax in, our stay would have been uncomfortable. The junior suite, however, was spacious. Pros: - Reasonably priced dinner and room service - Clean rooms and excellent housekeeping - Varied breakfast options, including an omelette station and coffee station - Convenient location, with easy access to Rosebank mall and The Zone - Great spa services at reasonable prices - Friendly staff, particularly Tamera, reception, Jacob, Jichana Grill, and Dudu/Duou, breakfast. Cons: - Dated rooms with low ceilings - Food was often undercooked, despite requests for well-done - Room service orders were occasionally incorrect or delayed - Unfriendly manager and unsanitary breakfast policies - Small bathrooms in both rooms -Yvonne at breakfast"

"We had a really comfortable stay at The Monarch. We particularly appreciated the welcome that we received at 8.45am having just arrived off an 11 hour flight from London. We were able to access our room immediately and enjoy a very comfortable rest before exploring the very local mall. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our short stay. The hotel is located less than 1 minute walk from Rosebank train station which made for very safe and convenient transfers from and to the airport just half an hour (with just one change at Sandton). One thing that visitors to this hotel should be aware of is that it is a halal hotel so there are no alcoholic beverages and no pork products available. We didn’t know this until we arrived but it in no way detracted from our stay here: we would happily stay again."

"It's right next to gautrain station and ideal for stop over...hotels at airport are getting real expensive now. Jump on train 20 mins your at hotel..only 2 minutes walk across the road from station.. Nice breakfast,nice meal at night...kingklip was awesome...good wine ...nice all round place"

"When in Joburg, the Parkwood in Rosepark is a sanctuary of relaxation and luxury. John Paul makes you feel welcome and pampered and the suites are large, well appointed and more than comfortable for relaxing and sleeping when on property. So much better than much larger chain hotels throughout Joburg. Location and luxury make the Parkwood our top option. "
