Keswick Park Hotel
8/10 Good
"Room was basic and clean, dated but typical for a B&B-type place in the UK. There is actually a lot of charm to these places with the "Fawlty Towers"-esque 10 staircases to get to the top floor, some of them downwards 😅 The room was boiling hot in the recent heatwave, as the portable fan wasn't left on, and the blinds were left wide open before check-in with the sun streaming in. It never cooled down fully and had to sleep under a wrung out towel to sleep. But those temps are rare in the Lakes. Maybe something for the hotel management to consider when it is very hot, closed blinds, fan on, and a little note apologising for the dinginess, but an explanation why. Breakfast was nice, lots of toast, unlimited cold buffet and attentive staff. Sausages could have been better quality for Cumbria. Location was perfect for transport, 8 minutes powerwalk to the main bus station, and a bus stop for the X services from Penrith right outside. A good corner shop a few minutes away for supplies. Would stay again for what I needed it for, one night in Keswick as a little home base."

Powter Howe
10/10 Excellent
"Wow! Can't say enough about this b&b, owner was welcoming even sorted some cakes and milk. The property is amazing full of character and wonky floors (proper old 😂) breakfast was fantastic, many thanks would definitely return if passing."

Crow Park Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"What a lovely hotel, in a fantastic location. Close to all Keswick has to offer. Our room was spacious and immaculate. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend"

Borrowdale Gates Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Second time staying here and we will definitely continue to visit. The location is beautifully quiet and only a 10 minute drive to Keswick town centre We come with our dog and the rooms are very dog friendly (must ring ahead to be allocated a dog room), however I wish there was more dog friendly allocated space in the hotel itself, as we personally won’t leave our dog unattended in a room to go for breakfast/a drink in the bar which is the only downside, so we ate elsewhere The staff are super friendly, The hotel is modern and the surrounding mountains are beautiful"

The Horse & Farrier Inn and The Salutation Inn
4/10 Poor
"I would not stay there again, I was very disappointed to see how dirty the kitchen was. The dustbin lids looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned for a while as the was still food around the bin. We ate at there other restaurant when we arrived the food wasn’t up to the standard I thought it would of been the starter and main meal my wife had were both dry and the fish and chips I had was very disappointing. We went down for breakfast the next morning and it was very poor no flavor to the bacon eggs not cooked properly, coffee was very poor and didn’t even taste like coffee. We end up cutting our trip short due to all of these issues and left after 1 night due still seeing the state of the kitchen the next morning."

The Grange Country House
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely beautiful with great views of derwent water. Breakfast was off the chart excellent. Staff so helpful."

Dale Head Hall Lakeside Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Awesome"

Keswick Country House Hotel
4/10 Poor
"This hotel is in an excellent location in Keswick and the staff were very helpful. The bar area was large and relaxing. However, the room, apart from the carpets, was tired and needed refurbishment. There was a black mould around the wooden windows. The shower unit was yellow with age. Even the toilet paper was thin and cheap. The breakfast was adequate, but the orange juice in particular, was like coloured water. Given the much higher price compared to local b&bs, we were disappointed with the overall experience."

Armathwaite Hall Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Our second visit to Armathwaite and just as enjoyable as our first. From the moment we were welcomed in reception we felt right at home, and I immediately felt my stress levels drop! The team are excellent, always on hand to help and they enjoy a bit of banter too, there’s a real sense of fun and friendliness. Our waiter in particular was superb, he looked after us both nights as we tried the new Indian restaurant “Zaika”as well as in the Fine Dining Restaurant. Other meals were outstanding. (We didn’t catch his name, he’s been working at Bassenthwaite for 4 years, he told us he is originally from India, and very attentive!). Housekeeping were so efficient that our bedroom was freshened up whilst we had breakfast (overlooking spectacular gardens down to Bassenthwaite lake). Even the hotel cat was friendly! The environment and gardens are incredible, we were blessed with clear blue skies over the May Bank Holiday. Finally, the EV charging experience was very straightforward, and very reasonable. Our favourite Lakeland hotel, thank you to the team for such an enjoyable and relaxing stay."
