"The accommodations are very clean and check-in was easy even though there was no one at the desk. We did not receive a check-in code because we reserved through hotels.com, so we had to call the guesthouse’s service line to check in upon arrival. The location is a bit strange as the parking lot is used for airport parking, and was completely full. It was hard to find a spot as a guest. The breakfast was too expensive for what it was, so we passed on that."
"We selected this hotel near the airport because of an early flight. Because of delays in our golden circle tour, we didn't arrive until very late. There were no food options nearby and the swimming pool was ready to close. We didn't get to take advantage of the amenities, but the room was clean and comfortable. The shuttle to the airport in the morning was efficient. They do not offer a shuttle from the airport and the taxi was expensive (like everything touristic in Iceland)."
"Great place to stay for a couple days. Decent size room with bathroom. No hotel staff on site, self check in, was smooth and easy. The restaurant attached to the hotel was good as well. Great stay."
"Only about a 10 minute taxi ride from KEF. I spent one night as part of the Icelandair stopover offer returning to the US from Norway. This location was perfect as I was in Keflavík for under 24 hours. Within 10 minutes walking you’re at the harbor and lots of statues and other monuments with signage and descriptions, street art nearby. Bónus supermarket 3 minute walk. The kitchen had nice amenities to be used and even some basic items that folks could share or leave for future guests. The room was a perfect size not too big not too small. Shared bathrooms worked out well. Once you enter the building, leave your outside shoes there on the mat. There was some noise with people entering and leaving, but with earplugs it’s remedied. The check-in process went really well and easy as they sent me a door code to enter. Upon arrival, they had a binder with my name on it. Every staff member I encountered was really helpful and welcoming. The hot tub is private to the property, but shared by everyone. It was not full/on but they were willing to put it on if I had wanted to, which I did not. I definitely would stay there again if I found myself in Keflavík."
"We stayed at Hotel KEF the night before leaving the country. Be advised there is not an airport shuttle but the staff will arrange transportation upon request. There were a few broken items in our bathroom, the shower heard holder and a light switch. We arrived early as we were moving between locations, they have a place for luggage storage but if want or need your room sooner than the 3pm check in, there’s a charge (20 Euro/Hr). While the spa is not included in the price, I highly recommend taking advantage of it, spectacular. Restaurant on-site serves delicious food.
It’s a beautiful hotel, polite staff that are proud of their facility. If you need to stay in Keflavik, I recommend seriously considering this hotel."
"Perfect for a basic overnight layover. I'd stay again. The taxi driver didn't know about the free shuttle part though, so we paid full price for the ride. I did message the hotel to give them our information to arrange the shuttle/taxi before the trip started but the hotel said to just call the taxi. So one small hitch, but a good stay overall."
