"This is a very unique hotel in Kauai-nothing fancy but very well maintained. Buildings moved from previous location many years ago. Location a little off the beaten path. Its located behind the Kalapaki harbor. Close to activities in Lihue. We have stayed there three times to start vac early and stay extra after main hotel location."

"Every one was very helpful ,especially front desk person Rini. She went out of her way to make us comfortable. At one point, late in the evening and she was limping with pain in her legs, yet she helped us out with some advice about next day our trip.
Rini was ever smiling and extra-oridinarily helpful. Next tome if at all we visit Lihue, we will stay at at this hotel, only because Rini was just too good.

"Just like grandma’s house a little old and not been renovated since last century but has everything you need and is close to all the basic resources. Spacious two bedroom 1.5 bath two floor corner condo with three balconies and easy access parking within walking distance to restaurants and nicely equipped local beach. Not a five star hotel but comfortable space for our family of three who generally know our way around and mostly just want to be beach bums. Be prepared that housekeeping is only once per week but there is washer and dryer in the unit with fully stocked kitchen and supplies to clean up yourself. Be clear about your reservation arrival and departure times and book additional nights if you need late check out since most flights on this island are at odd hours. Love the island and this resort met all our needs and has been for more than two decades so we will definitely do Banyan Harbor again next time. Mahalo!"
