Hotel Friend's Home
3.5 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (413)
"This hotel had excellent reviews. The price was good, so I booked it. I was not disappointed. The manager, Raj & his staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I could feel the warmth & friendship of the hotel as soon as I arrived. Nothing is to much trouble for them. I leave today for Pokhara, but will come back & stay here again next week when I return. Strongly recommend this hotel. You simply can not go wrong staying here. Its excellent."

"I loved staying in the quiet, spacious, clean rooms overlooking the courtyard. The hotel staff were exceptional--helpful in every way. And I thought the decor was beautiful. "I never leave reviews but I feel it is important for travelers to know what a wonderful hotel this is. Let me start by saying that the entire staff are among some of the kindest and genuine people I have come across in a long time. They themselves get 5 stars. The rooms are fantastic and the beds are super comfy. The hotel is also amazingly quiet. I couldn’t believe I was in Kathmandu! Its is beautifully decorated with thoughtful flowers and landscaping. Royal Penguin Boutique Hotel & Spa
4.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (159)
"Upon entering the room we were impressed by the blue led lighting strips. It gave us the sense that we were going into a room of the future. However, they have enough other lights that we were able to read without any effort. (I don't really like hotels that are mood-lit and never able to make bright enough to read anywhere). The bath tub was wonderful. It is so great to sit and soak after a great trek."

"Narrow streets around this area so there can be a bit of traffic noise. The airport pickup service works brilliantly and is reasonably priced. The welcome received on arrival was so friendly and lovely. Breakfast is a little limited but good - I recommend the masala omelette. Room was a good size and bed was comfortable."
