"My girlfriend and I had a great time at the Mauian, even though it was just one night. Very kind and helpful staff and speedy check-in. The overall property is relatively small, and you feel like you have your own little beach condo instead of a hotel room. I loved being able to walk right into the room from the garden area. Lovely location on Napili Bay, where you can enjoy the nice calm water and good sunsets. Also Sea House is just 3 minutes away down the beach, awesome restaurant with amazing food and views. Room itself was great too! Very comfy bed, nice and firm foamy feel. And for once in my life, I was given a hotel pillow that wasn't made of printer paper. Very nice. Would definitely stay again!"

"The report is beautiful and access to the beach is unmatched! But it’s not ideal for travel with kids. There are no shades on the very tall windows so makes napping difficult and the staff is not friendly."

"This was our first experience with checking in when the office was closed. We had never checked in before using a lock box, etc. However, we found everything was easy and that needed information was left in the lockbox for us. The pool area is very nice and has lush foliage."

"The Kapalua Bay Villas are located on the cliffs above Kapalua Bay. The Villa we were in had a large grass area in front of us, then the cliffs, ocean, etc. Yremendiously beautiful setting. Sitting on the patio and listening to the wind and waves is incredibly tranquil... It is truly a multimillion dollar view. While I give 5 stars, mostly for the location, as the actual condo is starting to get a bit run down. The walls need paint and some repairs. The counter grout is chipping out of the seams. Floor tiles are cracked. The couch is very worn and quite uncomfortable. The bed is very mushy. My back hurt the entire time I stayed there. The condo door sticks shut, and requires a serious slamming to align the deadbolt for security. The condo, while it looked decently cleaned, had many dead and some alive gnats. Would I rent this condo again... Not unless they changed out the couch and bed... Yeah, they were bad. On the positive side, the grounds are beautiful, and the pools have been recently refurbished, or are in the process of being refurbished. The proximity to hiking trails and the beach are huge positives. Overall, I still give the Villas 5 stars, but that's for the location... If just for the condo, the degree of "disrepair" would only rank 4 stars... Overall, a 4.5 star experience."
