Those small touches really stand out when you have been travelling for 3 weeks already. The coffee from the cafe was probably the best I've had in Japan, great cappuccino. It was on a quiet street and still close enough to the main sites of Kanazawa that you could walk to anything in about 20 minutes, or take the bus on the bus loop from the nearby stop. They then showed me around and proceeded to assist with carrying luggage up the stairs to my room, above and beyond customer service - as with everywhere in Japan.
