"The room was lovely, clean and a decent size. The twin beds were like two small double beds, which was amazing, I hate sleeping in a single bed!! Breakfast was buffet style and had a really good selection, the only downside was you couldn’t get a proper cup of tea! The water came out a multi drink machine, so the tea ended up looking frothy (not nice). That aside, we had a lovely stay and will definitely stay again. "

"Absolute amazing stay . ❤️ loved the rooms we stayed 1 night in the vault ( didnt see the ghost !! ) thankgod! And stayed in the top room with roof top tub 2nd night , the pictures dont show how big the room really is its huge ! Loved all of it do much and the tub is 40c great . Location perfect opposite bettys tearooms 10min walk away from train station would love to book again sad we had to leave , all staff so friendly and happy 😊 and the secret doors are a treat, into the bar and basement 😀 "

"A lovely period hotel that was spotlessly clean and had very comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Just a short 20 minute walk in to the city centre. Would highly recommend and we'll definitely be returning."

"The hotel was well-situated in the centre of York. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. There were a few small cobwebs around the base of some of the room furniture and the shower room had a stale smell on arrival, which could be associated with the shower not being used, or if the water in the shower trap is siphoned out by water flow from other showers."

"We loved our stay here! Everywhere was spotless, the room was cozy and the bed comfortable. I loved the pool, and was pleased there was a sauna in the room and that the pool had an in-built jacuzzi. Reception was nice and there were lots of local goodies on sale for a reasonable price. All the staff we encountered were really pleasant, friendly and helpful. There was a good range of decent meals in the bar lounge, the pizzas were exceptional! I was somewhat disappointed with breakfast, the hot food was overdone and tough. The fried eggs were solid, and the scrambled weren't very nice. However, there were plenty of other foods to choose from. The bread for the toast was lovely. We will most definitely go there again, we fully recommend it!"
