Not only important media companies but impressive historic buildings as well as popular galleries and museums await on your diverse city trip to Ismaning.

A few kilometres to the north-east of the Bavarian state capital Munich, the municipality Ismaning is located on the banks of the Isar River. The city is home to large companies from the media industry, such as Medienpark Sport 1, Gong Publishing and the radio station Antenne Bayern. Apart from modern office buildings, you will find the historically grown city centre of Ismaning which is dominated by the Parish Church St. Johann Baptist. The church was completed in 1975 and still includes parts of the neo-Romanesque predecessor church, among them the choir. The tower is also from a previous church from the 13th century.

Not far from St. Johann Baptist extends the listed Baroque Palace with beautiful palace park - a popular destination during a city trip to Ismaning. The interior of the former palace of the Prince Bishops of Freising today houses the guildhall in delicately designed historic rooms. The building is surrounded by a magnificent park which was created as an equestrian school in 1728. Today, the property impresses with its style of English landscaped gardens. The enchanting Palace Pavilion has been inviting city travellers to a gallery with modern paintings, graphics and sculptures since 1982. The location of the former orangery now houses the Kallmann Museum with impressive expressionist works by the Polish painter Hans Jürgen Kallmann.

The listed Seidl Mill on Mühlenstrasse is a pretty building with a popular cultural centre with library, music school and adult education centre. The mill has been running at the Seebach stream since 1663. A stately residential home was built on the mill terrain in 1883. Operations ran until 1967. The water tower on the southern edge of Ismaning is another popular sightseeing destination during a short trip or mini-break in Ismaning. The industrial monument is 36 metres high, was built in 1913 and covered the majority of the city’s water supply until 1983. Today, the former residence of the water guard houses a painter’s studio with noteworthy exhibitions.

During your travels, be sure to also visit the Allianz Centre for Technology, located two kilometres north-east of Ismaning. Here you can find extraordinary exhibitions and images around the topic ‘Museum of Mishaps’. The foyer and the walls document the frequently fatal consequences of small causes, such as the well-spoken debris of a detonation in a factory or a mouse cast in resin which caused a cable fire with damages of 30 Million Euro.
