The location of La Puerta Azul is wonderful! It is on the quite stretch of island, but a brisk walk it short taxi (golf card) ride to the center. There were constructions at the hotel near but that was not bothersome.
At breakfast, on multiple occasions the butter knife on the butter/ jam dish was dirty which made me think we’ve been eating the butter/jam left over from other quests.
The plastic braided lounge chairs on the beach were very uncomfortable. It was such a turn off! The towels (one per person) were too small to cover the chair and you really can’t lay on these chairs without covering. The pain in the hot plastic braiding pattern indenting your body is no joke. We asked for one extra towel and were told NO! :( another turn off…
The hotels around (next door) were much more appealing, comfortable lounge area, great restaurants and beach bars. We would have spent the days at La Puerta Azul if we were given an extra towel. Please get some lounge chair cushions!! Small price to pay to earn returning customers and increase revenue from your bar/ restaurant! For our next time, we’ll try a different hotel in the vicinity!
