"Staff were amazing and very friendly. The Indian meal we had was huge and as good as any restaurant . The building is old and needs a total upgrade. If you a want new shiny hotel, go somewhere else. This is a bargain and in a good location."

"Check in was great, very quick and the reception lady made us feel welcome, room was clean and spacious and there were some nice walks around the area. The bar was great, we had already eaten so just had a drink they had a good selection of wine and beers. Breakfast was good although the male server was very rude and obnoxious, when we arrived at 8:27am a nice young lady told us where to sit as we had a dog with us and said her colleague would come and see us to take our breakfast order and bring tea/coffee etc, after a few minutes I approached him to ask if he was coming to take our order, he scoffed at me and said "well you have to tell me you're here" I then had to request menus from him, he brought them and let us know that we were troubling him, then asked our name, I told him our name and room number then he unbelievably said to me "you're a bit early are you not" by now it was exactly 8:30am as I looked down at my watch, we were booked in for 8:30am.... The guy obviously doesn't like his job and should maybe apply at Fawlty Towers where he'd be in a more suitable atmosphere for his demeanour. Apart from that it was a great stay, would visit again."

"Loved our stay here. We brought the dog along too. Room was spotless and the rest of the hotel. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. They went above and beyond with things such as advising about the local area, providing fresh food at the breakfast buffet, an iron and board when needed and even remembering our dogs name! The other residents were also delightful. The place was packed at breakfast in the morning and staffing levels easily covered the needs of all the residents. Breakfast was great thank you! We felt so welcome. We will be back."

Macdonald Forest Hills Resort

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed in one of the apartments, rather than the hotel, and it was absolutely perfect. Very spacious, clean and so well-equipped, particularly for someone like me who enjoys cooking for a family. The view from the living room/balcony was totally stunning. The playground could do with a bit of maintenance and there was a net missing from one of the tennis courts, which was a shame, as the other court was taken when we wanted to play. The bar and bistro menu was pricey. Swimming pool and leisure facilities were awesome and we spent so much time in the pool as the weather was very disappointing but what can you expect in Scotland! If you do get some sun wet heartily recommend a day trip to Luss and kayaking on Loch Lomond."
