Beautiful setting, full of character. Wonderfully welcoming and helpful staff. Quiet and peaceful. Excellent breakfast! The regular menu is also excellent. A nice respite in a busy world!

Apart from a few bits of refurbishment, this hotel was fine and the staff very helpful; the food was excellent as well as the beer. We would highly recommend this location for its proximity to many locations in the South West

Lovely place to stay off the beaten path… The only issue was that the hot water supply never reached what one might call hot… but on an incredibly warm weekend that wasn’t a problem and didn’t detract from our stay… A lovely quiet place to stay, breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed the evening restaurant menu. The beer was excellent. Thankyou for an enjoyable stay.

The cooked breakfast was very good but the coffee was weak. The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was motel style with guest access at the back of the property and lead out onto a road where you take a path between houses to get round to the front of the building and the car park. The owners did let us take a short cut through the pub upon check-in and check-out. The bed was comfortable and the water was hot but there was mould on the bathtub tiles and on the curtains in the bathroom along with spiders and webs. The heated towel rail worked on the first night but remained cold the second night. We were fine with it but I know some people have issues with mould. It met our needs.

Overnight stay at The New Inn near Ilminster.

The hosts were most welcoming and we enjoyed a lovely overnight stay. We had an excellent evening meal, plus a delicious breakfast with best bacon I have ever tasted! The atmosphere in the pub in the evening was very friendly and just as a village pub should be full of locals.

Excellent stay!

We stayed just the one night and arrived after 7.30 pm we were warmly welcomed and had a lovely, lovely meal. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great room, very comfy bed. Breakfast was brilliant, great full english! Can highly recommemd The New Inn.
