"Great location right in Gran Via - right in middle of bustling boulevard and central to all the main sights. We walked everywhere from here. Close to loads of cute cafes, neighborhoods and shopping. Loved the rooftop bar and cafe - will be amazing when it fully opens in a few weeks. Huge room that was recently renovated (club double). Beautifully decorated with very nice amenities. Breakfast brunch was huge and very good."

"Mi experiencia en el Hotel RIU Plaza España fue excelente de principio a fin. La ubicación es simplemente inmejorable, en plena Gran Vía, lo que permite moverse caminando a los principales puntos turísticos de Madrid, así como disfrutar de restaurantes, tiendas y vida nocturna a pocos pasos. Las instalaciones del hotel son modernas, elegantes y muy bien cuidadas. La habitación fue cómoda, limpia y con una vista espectacular de la ciudad, lo que hizo la estancia aún más especial. La cama muy confortable y el baño amplio, con todos los detalles necesarios. Uno de los mayores atractivos del hotel es su famosa terraza en la azotea, que ofrece vistas panorámicas impresionantes de Madrid. Sin duda, es un lugar perfecto para relajarse, tomar algo y disfrutar del atardecer. El servicio del personal fue otro punto destacado: atentos, profesionales y siempre dispuestos a ayudar en todo momento. El check-in y check-out fueron rápidos y eficientes. El desayuno buffet es muy completo, con gran variedad de opciones tanto dulces como saladas, ideal para comenzar el día con energía. En general, es un hotel que combina ubicación, confort y excelente servicio. Sin duda, lo recomendaría y volvería a hospedarme en mi próxima visita a Madrid."

"They had a planned water shut off due to maintenance issues. They did not contact us in advance or give us a chance to get a refund. The water was shut off for over 8 hours making the bathrooms completely unusable. Even after the water came on the shared bathrooms were absolutely disgusting because people had used the toilets. The staff were rude and completely unapologetic when we tried to ask when the water would come back on."

"Everything was perfect but my only complaint would be that the only option for a coffee and pasty before 9am is the full buffet in the 7th floor. Not everyone wants a full breakfast. It would be nice if the little coffee and pastry stand in the main floor opened sooner!"

"Positives... / Great location. 2 min walk to Gran Vía. / Pleasant, efficient, check in. / Pleasant staff. / An internal door separating the hallway from the bedroom. This is a big positive because, if there's any noise from the hotel corridor this door could be closed to minimise that noise. / Lots of storage and hangers. / Lots of power points, standard and usb, inc on both sides of the bed. Negatives… / Rated as 4* by local authorities. I'd say, in comparison to international standards, it's at best 3.5*. / Smallish room. / No complementary water (for a 4* hotel!). / No tea / coffee making facilities (for a 4* hotel!). / During the weekend noise from outside on the square was audible through 4-5am, so if you're a light sleeper I recommend staying elsewhere. My room was on the top floor, with double glazing, yet could still hear the noise outside. Seems to be caused by youths loitering around in the square. "
