Holiday Inn Express & Suites Courtenay - Comox by IHG
8/10 Good
"Breakfast was fantastic and the beds were soft but very comfortable. The first room we were sent to wasn’t fully cleaned and they upgraded us to another bigger room graciously. The bigger room was unfortunately available because it needed some maintenance. A wall outlet was highly damaged and a picture was missing from the wall. They apologized, but we didn’t mind. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, I feel the property was new but showing some wear. But this didn’t deter our stay, we had a good night sleep and a great breakfast and went on our way. Staff was wonderful."
"Top quality property with excellent service and amenities. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Golf course was challenging but enjoyable. Would love to return."
"I really can’t say enough about how much we loved this hotel! Everything was very clean and updated. Staff was all very friendly. The location cannot be beat and they had so many great amenities. Already thinking about coming back! "
"Although we had booked a pet friendly room it wasn’t on the reservation, although they did have a queen to put us in. The TV had been set up with parental controls and no-one seemed to know what was going on or how to fix it, so not much to watch."
"There is some false advertising about this property and overpriced for this reason.
#1 - it states on the website that there is a family restaurant on site. THERE IS NOT!
#2 - it states there is a FULL BREAKFAST Included. THERE IS NOT! What they consider a full breakfast is, scrambled eggs, sometimes bacon, sometimes sausage (yuk), pancakes, sugar packed cereal, sugar packed yogurt, bread, coffee, and fruit cocktail.
THERE IS NO FRESH FRUIT, no bananas, oranges, apples or anything that a healthy eater would choose!
The room was clean enough except probably the carpet so I don’t like to go barefoot.
The climate in the room is fine as you can adjust the temperature. The shower is a very fine spray so for anyone with really long hair it takes forever to rinse out.
We won’t stay here again because it is over priced for what is advertised. There was no notice on their website stating that there is no longer a family restaurant.
My spouse stayed here 2 days a week for work about ten years ago and said it used to be a large buffet breakfast and the property has really gone down hill since then.
If it’s under new management, they have failed and lied about what is available."
"The hotel is in a wonderful location- just steps away from the ocean. The room was clean but a bit dark and smelled a little musty. The coffee maker was not working so we were a bit disappointed in that. The desk staff said they would look after that when I mentioned it. We decided to leave early because we really needed to get home to our family. The free golf next door was great though. "
