Top Holyhead Maritime Museum Hotel Reviews
The Boathouse Hotel
8/10 Good
"Stayed for one night before getting ferry. Though it’s obvious that this is a work in progress our family room was clean and sufficient for our needs and the staff were helpful. Also the hotel itself is in a nice setting at the end of the bay."
The Beach Motel
10/10 Excellent
"Check in nice and easy, reception staff very informative. Room clean, essential kettle, tea, coffee, sugar and milk, toiletries in bathroom. We was on the 3rd floor (top) only access is via steps. Close to beach and coastal walks."
The Anchorage Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"All staff were absolutely lovely and so friendly, Continental breakfast was great and from local farms. Our room was spacious and very clean."
The Haven Guest House
10/10 Excellent
"Such a great place to stay in Holyhead, I highly recommend! The rooms were nice and clean, pet friendly, very quiet, and the breakfast was affordable and delicious! The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. We had 4 heavy suitcases and the owner, Phil, gave us a ride to the train station himself."
Orient B&B

The School House
8/10 Good
"Booked Mon-Fri March 26. Good size property, in the middle of town although not much there for a town really. Was very underwhelming upon approach, right next to a public car park and what can only be described as a factory building site behind and an alley way up the other side of the house which made us feel a little anxious. The house itself was clearly modernised recently, is spacious with huge bedrooms and large T.V's in each. Kitchen is well equipped and the lounge area comfortable and nice being open plan. There are some gripes though. It wasnt particularly clean, cobwebs on the walls, and dirty skirting boards in the small toilet this wasnt clean in our opinion. (My wife is a cleaner so we have high standards) Cables hanging down from the T.V at toddler grabbing height so a concern. The extractor in the En-Suite doesnt work, the matress in one of the bedfooms far exceeds the bedsize making rolling out of bed quite an event. There are no curtains on the huge windows, just vertical blinds which block zero sunlight so if you are a light sleeper, good luck. Holyhead is a pretty grim area and its a shame because the house is quite decent and doesnt match its surroundings (Apart from the clearly dull grey external coloured houses) We should have done our research a bit more thoroughly on the location as outside of Holyhead town it is very pretty but a long treck from the main tourist parts in Anglesea and North Wales. Bedding and towels are old,we actually left a day early."
Tan Y Cytiau
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely Phenomenal! We loved everything about this beautiful flat within a larger house. It is situated between the Holyhead Rock and the Sea. With farm lands, sheep n goats n horses. The furniture and well built home is something quite worthy and spectacular. "

South Stack Lighthouse
9.4/10 (121 reviews)
Old lighthouses are wonderfully romantic spots, with their inspiring views, lonely locations, and a powerful proximity to the elements. Lighthouses don’t come much better than South Stack’s which has stood proud since 1809. Not far from Holyhead, the largest town on the island of Anglesey and, these days, a busy ferry port, the lighthouse assists the passage of ships on the Dublin–Holyhead–Liverpool sea route, which crosses some famously stormy seas.
