"Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great for walking the waterfront or downtown shops. We did a Kenai tour and drove to the marina (I think we could have walked there along the waterfront if we were feeling energetic). They let us check-in in a little early since our room was ready. That was great, and allowed us to start exploring. We had a king room. Small bathroom, but great shower water pressure. The toilet was a bit finicky/clogged immediately, but maintenance responded right away. Parking is on the street out front which could probably get tough during the busy summer. The room needed a smart tv (it’s 2026) so we could log into streaming services like Netflix, Prime, etc. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel ($22/person which seemed expensive for what they offered). We would stay there again if it’s not summer."
"This is a lovely and quaint bed-and-breakfast in Seward. The location is good for exploring the historic downtown area with the shops and restaurants. There is a city shuttle if you wanna go further north in town for some excursions. Most excursion companies also offer a free pick up. It is a much better neighborhood to stay and then uptown. Sara and her staff operate this property and take care of your every need. The morning, hot breakfast to order was outstanding! We enjoyed fresh fruit salad, eggs to order bacon, and sausage and amazing sourdough waffles. Certainly a really good find in Seward!"
"This property was quaint, clean and comfortable. He bathroom and furnishings appeared brand new. And the exterior of the property was well kept and attractive. Although no view of the harbor, the up close mountain view was beautiful. Desk staff were very friendly."
"We took a 12 day family trip and visited multiple towns in Alaska. The Sauerdough Lodging was one of our favorite guest houses because the location was amazing and the hosts made it the check-in and check-out process so easy. Our host communicated early and anticipated our arrival, unlike the other guest houses we visited. I juggled plane travel, train travel, shuttles, and lodging for my family, and I appreciated their proactive communication to ensure everything went smoothly. I’m very pleased with our experience, and I would definitely stay here again in the future!"
