"Fantastic place to stay and eat although the "castle view" accommodation mostly obscured the castle by tall trees. Make sure you do the morning tour!"
"A very clean and comfortable place. The rooms were very nice and the beds quite comfortable. The bathrooms were up to date and there was plenty of hot water. The pub next door was very hand for a drink and breakfast in the morning. Very friendly staff. "
"The service, food and drink here was amazing. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the views just down the road made for an amazing sunset.
I would definitely stay here again."

"The royal station hotel was simply stunning, in the heart of old Newcastle- so much character, the room was perfect, all of the staff was pleasant, and the restaurant food was great!"
"I chose this hotel for location to the train station and good price point for a one night stay after going to the theatre. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, it was immaculate. Comfortable bed, though we were facing a main busy street, the noise did not affect us. Polite, friendly staff and impressed that when we returned late at night, a member of staff checked we were staying before allowing us in. The room was compact, but perfect for our stay. A beautiful old building, well maintained. "
"We thoroughly enjoyed staying in a castle. Staff were very friendly and professional . There was a selection of two menus for dinner. The more casual menu had steak and ale pie which was exceptional and a generous portion size. The hotel is conveniently located to visit Hadrian's Wall and the Roman History Museum. It is also not far from Hexham Abbey. It is a rare experience to visit a 7th century church. Don’t forget to take the tour of the castle offered daily to guests. If you are looking for a unique experience this is the place!"
