Our stay at The Penguino was absolutely wonderful. Our hosts were warm, engaging, and full of good humour — they made us feel instantly welcome and shared lots of great local tips. The accommodations were spotless and beautifully maintained, and the breakfast was nothing short of exceptional — easily the best we had during our vacation. We couldn’t recommend The Penguino more highly!

The breakfast was just what we needed. Stephan was a friendly and enjoyable host at Breakfast. Our hostess (sorry I have forgotten her name) was wonderful. My partner had being having a digestion issue prior to our arrival, and our hostess generously provided some over the counter medication which was very helpful. The property location is close to the center with many dining options. The scenery in the area is stunning. Highly recommend staying at The Penguino.

Excellent Stay with Wonderful Hosts

Would highly recommend the Penguino. The hosts, Stefan and his wife Nikki are wonderful and really go out of their way to make your stay easy and comfortable. They can help you with any local tours or places to eat out. The breakfast was outstanding and the room amazing. Would definitely book again!

Outstanding host

The host Nikki is outstanding and very helpful. The room size is good and comfortable. Warm electric blanket. Nikki helped us with our Whale trip but unfortunately it got canceled at last minute due to bad weather. Will stay here again without hesitation

Excellent property with very professional service and comforting security. Superior rooms with great features including tea/coffee-making, good Wi-Fi, USB sockets by the bed. Breakfast excellent. Host Stefan very knowledgeable and helped us plan our onward travel. Situated a very short distance from the sea if you fancy whale watching and close enough to the town to reach a great selection of restaurants. We would highly recommend the Penguino.

We'll be back!!

This is in the top 3 of the best value for money accommodation we've ever stayed in! Why? The location, the welcome, the room, the SUPERB breakfast, the local knowledge and advice, the electric bikes we hired. And in particular the way hosts Stefan and Nikki interacted with us and the other guests, somehow bringing us all together which enhanced the stay even more.We made some great contacts with people who had stayed at Penguino previously .... which speaks volumes in itself. Hermanus is a lovely, chilled-out place and when we go back we will be staying here again.

Das Zimmer war absolut sauber und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und dekoriert. Die Gastgeber waren sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend und haben sehr gerne bei weiteren Planungen und Buchungen von Aktivitäten unterstützt. Das tolle und sehr abwechslungsreiche Frühstück wurde vom Gastgeber persönlich und mit sehr viel Leidenschaft zubereitet. Ich fühlte mich jederzeit absolut und sicher. Das Penguino Guest House kann ich uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Wunderbares Gasthaus in toller Lage in Hermanus. Wir wurden ganz toll vom Gastgeber empfangen und uns wurde alles ausführlich gezeigt. Die Anlage ist hübsch gestaltet, es gab ausreichend Parkmöglichkeiten und alles war sehr modern. Die Zimmer waren sauber, ebenfalls modern und gut ausgestattet. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und die Zimmer sehr geräumig. Das Frühstück war lecker und nett gestaltet. Die Gegend ist sicher. Der Küstenwanderweg ist in 2 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die Restaurants und der Stadtkern in 15 Minuten. Man kann hier nachts zur Unterkunft zurücklaufen. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Vey convenient guest house.

One night stop over in between Plettenberg & Cape Town. Enabled us to have a half day tour around the area which was well worth while. Everything was as described & more than adequate. Breakfast was superb!

En pärla i Hermanus

En fantastisk vistelse som vi gärna gör om! Det här stället är en riktig pärla. Ägarparet är fantastiska – otroligt trevliga och alltid redo att ge tips om de bästa restaurangerna, utflykterna och vingårdarna i området. De hjälpte oss verkligen att få ut det mesta av vår vistelse. Frukosten är en upplevelse i sig med en perfekt kombination av à la carte och buffé. Sehr liebevoll und persönlich geführtes Guesthouse mit außergewöhlich gutem Frühstück. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer lässt keine Wünsche offen. Stefan und Nikki sind hervorragende Gastgeber. Maravilhosa a estadia no Penguino! O casal de donos do hotel são extremamente simpáticos, atenciosos e solicitos! Quarto grande, aconchegante e bem limpo! Hotel bem localizado! Da para ir tranquilamente andando para o centro de Hermanus! Café da manhã maravilhoso feito na hora, pelo próprio dono do hotel, que cozinha muito bem! Absolutely lovely property in easy safe walking distance of Hermanus centre. Safe secure parking within locked boundary. The owner was really friendly and helpful, with lots of advice of things to do and places to eat and drink. Comfortable clean accommodation and with a nice little swimming pool, although we were too busy to use it! Absolutely first class breakfast. Would definitely recommend and use again.
