Our room was fine and clean overall. The bed is comfortable, although very soft. A water dispenser is available, and the location is excellent—just a few steps to the main street where the market and shops are.
What bothered us was the host’s extremely love for cats. This was not clear to us from the booking photos on the website. The reception area is basically a playground for three cats, and it smells accordingly. Our entire room was also covered with cat stickers, which felt a bit strange.
The room is relatively spacious but very inefficiently designed. No shelf, no clothes rail, not even a hook on the wall. We ended up living out of our suitcase for four nights.
We had already paid for the accommodation six months in advance through this booking platform. Upon arrival, however, the host demanded that we still owed 3800NT. Unfortunately, the language barrier was also an issue, as she does not speak English. After explaining the situation several times with the help of a translator, she finally admitted it was her mistake.
We were a bit disappointed—if we hadn’t noticed ourselves, we might have ended up paying twice.
