"The hotel is located in a very large resort that has multiple hotels. This Ocean tower hotel is furthest from the parking and the resort entrance. They have a tram that moves very very slowly in the resort. Or, we can have healthy exercises and just walk. But, the size of this resort did not help us at all when the smoke detector in our room suddenly went off at 5am in a morning while we were all asleep. We called the front desk for help to turn it off, but the maintenance didn't seem to come to help for a while. So, I called the front desk again and eventually visited the front desk to see when the help was coming. The front desk person didn't really care for the urgency of the situation and only said "the maintenance has to come all the way from the other side of the resort, so it takes time". In the mean time, my husband had to close off the smoke detector speaker on the ceiling with his fingers so that the sound became less loud and I tried opening the window and the room door to ventilate to see if it stops the alarm (but it didn't stop...). The maintenance finally showed up when the alarm kept going for like +20 min and the alarm was removed off the ceiling. The alarm was apparently defective. We were disappointed by the apparent lack of urgency by the hotel personnel and their indifference to the situation. "
